Trusted teacher: Did you always want to have a great voice? Or do you know you have one, and want to get better at using it? Or do you just want to be able to sing songs at home and enjoy yourself? What ever you are looking for, as long as you want to find enjoyment in singing, I'm the teacher for you. Genres: Pop, rock, jazz & blues, soul, singer/songwriter I've been teaching music for a decade now, and I'm still as in love with it as when I started. I love to see my students grow. Together we look for what inspires you, what supports you technically, and find your path in learning how to sing. We'll work on breathing, tone, style, and the mental game that comes with being a confident singer and regular practice. I focus on giving you a positive learning experience; I'm going to empower you by teaching you step by step, so you know what your process is and you can reproduce it yourself at home or at a gig. If you're interested, we can also work on songwriting and/or accompanying yourself on an instrument. You decide the tempo at which we work, you decide what and what style you want to work on, you decide whether you take classes of 30 or 60 minutes and how regularly you take them. You'll get exercises, sheet music and backing tracks to practice at home. You're allowed to record the class so you can remember everything and hear your progress. If you want to, we can even make a professional recording of you singing. Everything is possible, and everything we do will be in dialogue with each other. Wether you come every week, or every month, it's all up to you, as long as you put in the practice at home you'll make big leaps forward. !! It is possible to work with me on extended vocal techniques like growl & distortion !!

However, diving into the wonders of the piano/keyboard can be a bit overwhelming... and that is where I come in! This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano. In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. If that all sounds good to you, then please reach out to me and we can start ASAP! Lessons can be in English or Dutch. So who am I? In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege. On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year. Every day, I strive to become a better musician and person, and I aim to transfer that passion to my students.

David is an amazing teacher! He has very well thought out teaching style, focused on improving my technique, and providing clear and practical guidance. I really appreciated his willingness to tailor the lessons to my personal interests and goals. I also asked lots of questions about music theory and music production and he knew it all! I made a lot of progress with him and will definitely contact him for more lessons when I return to Rotterdam. I am a beginner on the Double Bass but have previously played other instruments and know a bit about theory, so I really appreciate his versatility in expalining different musical aspects. In this lesson, Ostap went through the details of liber tango with me and taught me chords in F major. He is very professional, patient and good humored. He incorporates accordion learning and music theory in a way that one builds a solid musical mind for future self learning. I strongly recommend his music lessons!
