You can play any genre and alone or in huge groups, only your imagination can set the limits. As a cello teacher, my mission with my cello school is to create an interest in my students and give the knowledge of learning how to learn. I want every student that has a lesson with me get the value of learning and create lifelong interest for the cello. The cellist life is filled with community, friendship, history Not only the skill to play but the interest to do so through the whole life. The skills you learn with your instrument is also transparent to other parts of your life. Nobody ever said I regret that I learned to play the cello. I later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Studies with First Class Honours from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, accredited by Trinity College Dublin, followed by a Master’s degree in Opera and Music Performance from the Conservatorium Maastricht, graduating with cum laude. With 17 years of teaching experience, I have guided students of all levels—from beginners to aspiring professionals. Some of my students have been accepted into prestigious music colleges with full scholarships, while others have passed their piano and singing exams with distinction. I understand that not every student enjoys music lessons at first, and I take the time to communicate with both students and parents to find the best approach for each individual. I recently moved from London to Maastricht where I live now with my husband and our 5 year old son. I studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Royal Academy of Music in London. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Opera, which is the highest qualification level (Level 8) in the UK Qualifications Framework. I performed in many prestigious venues in the UK, including Royal Albert Hall, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Barbican, and St.Martin-in-the-Fields. I worked with Nelly Miricioiu, Jane Glover, Vladimir Jurowski, Robin Ticciati, Stéphane Denève, and many other renowned coaches and conductors. I am currently part of the Limburg Education Tour project 'Weltatem', which is a collaboration between Het Geluid Maastricht (Romy Roelofsen and Gable Roelofsen) and Kirsten Schötteldreier. Alongside my performing career, I also have been teaching singing. I am very passionate about teaching and I believe that music, whether it is listening to a concert, playing the guitar, or singing in the shower, is good for both our mental and physical well-being. It helps us to become more self-confident, find out more about how we can use our whole body as an instrument, to express and channel our feelings, and also to relax. I really enjoy the lessons from Mahmoud. He has a very good eye and ear for the details of the classical pieces I try to play. He detects my misstaken and shows me how to playnitvright. With his knowledge and experience he helps me to improve my technical abilities. Apart from that he also helps me to understanding the musicality of the music which makes the playing all the more fun.

Yu-Ya is an excellent teacher. She is nice, patient, and enthusiastic. She chose the pieces according to my level and interests, and she made the practice plan to strengthen my weaknesses. The most impressive part is she pointed out my blindspot and tried different methods to work on my terrible sense of tempo, which works very well. Highly recommended!
