Trusted teacher: I am a 32-year old composer, electric guitarist and songwriter based in Den Haag, teaching composition, music theory, and score writing. I teach in English or in Greek. I am half Greek and half Scottish and I have been living in the Netherlands for the last 6 years. I offer lessons in all styles, to all age groups, and for any experience level (ranging from students who want to learn how to read and write music to create their first score, up to more experienced composers who are looking for fresh ideas and improving their skills to really make their music shine, or who are looking for help polishing their composition portfolio for entrance exams). Face to face lessons are preferable, but I also teach online. I am a patient and open minded teacher, and my desire is to help you learn what you want to learn, and make sure you enjoy and take pride in your music, explore a breadth of musical ideas that can inform your work, learn to express your musical ideas as best as possible and nurture your curiosity and excitement about the world of music creation ! During this time The Brass Project was featured by Santa Fe Pro Musica, at National Sawdust, and at Music from Angel Fire. Our debut album, “Cityscaping,” was released in December 2018. I recently graduated with a master’s degree in baroque trumpet at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. I earned an Artist Diploma at the Curtis Institute of Music, and a bachelor’s degree at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.

I recently enrolled my daughter (Dutch native) in English lessons with this teacher and I must say, the experience has been fantastic. My daughter has learned so much in the past few weeks and it's all thanks to the teacher's fun and engaging approach to teaching. The lessons are always interactive and my daughter loves them. She looks forward to her English class every week and I can see a noticeable improvement in her language skills. Hello, Jakob has really been such a great teacher, I have never seen someone so enthusiatic about music...He is the type of person who can motivate you to learn and have fun with the instrument. I am total beginner in terms of music and violin, but yet the progress im making is amazing. The lessons are so much fun and i really enjoy learning from him. He is never afraid to go extra mile for his students, which is very rare these days. I look foreward to my classes every week. Overall, i have an amazing time learning violin, all thanks to him.

I have done already more than 5 lessons with Goncalo and I can highly reccomend him. He is very kind and patience, but mostly I great teacher. I was a beginner trying to learn playing guitar via internet without any success. But since I started taking lessons with Goncalo I improved quickly my skills. what we do during the lessons is playing together a song of my choice, first he shows me what the accords are and then we play :)
