About Me

I am a jazz vocalist, composer, and arranger who was born in New York City and grew up in Connecticut.

I’ve been playing piano since I was 4 and flute since 4th grade, but really got into jazz in high school when I attended a jazz camp over the summer. I had already applied to be a Classical Voice major at the University of Illinois by the time jazz had started to become a major interest. After the first year at UIUC, I decided to add jazz as a second major eventually receiving two degrees in Vocal Performance and Jazz Performance.

Since moving to Amsterdam August of 2019 to pursue her Master’s degree in Jazz Voice at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, I have been working on 2 new projects. The first is Jobimbo: Sofia sings Jobim which will be recording soon and the second is Suite Dreams, a project illustrating a journey of sleep and dreams. When I’m not attending classes or teaching I perform around Amsterdam.

Osian
Cello, singing and theory lessons from bilingual Welsh and English speaker
Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not. I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I perform and have performed with renowned musicians and bands from many different scenes and styles, bringing me to venues all over the world (USA, UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Portugal, Spain...). I have a deep passion for music ever since I started playing 16 years ago, and would like to share it with you! Bass is the best! And I want to help you uncover it's full potential. I can also teach online if it's better, I also have regular online students with whom we are making great progress. For the lesson, there is no need to bring an instrument: I can lend you one. Looking forward to meeting you!
