With a specialism in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, my style of teaching is an expression of my experiences as a student and a tutor. My past tutoring experiences ranges from teaching secondary school classrooms and a lot of work with 1-on-1's. While I have had State Schooling my successful early experiences with exams (SATS, GCSEs) set me up with a solid foundation and ideal to approach exams by myself and eventually find my area of expertise in everything Maths and Physics. When it comes to exam preparation, my strategy is always textbook oriented. My principle in education has always been to know what I don't know and then deal with my not-knowing of that chapter/area. I like to use what is known/understood as a warm up and get creative with it, probing the student's baselines and tactics. The warm up also gives you the winning-feeling about the subject and this is a feeling that grows and brings clarity such that it guided me year in, year out to go and understand every chapter to answer every topical exam question, and it can for you too. Greetings! I am a geospatial analyst at Transport for London and I specialise in running statistical analysis in R and Python, as well as analysing large sets of data and building and running Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through different technologies. As part of my specialisation, I teach and assist early and mid-career individuals with data science and statistics, including the programming languages Python and R. This class will take us through basic math skills useful for every level - from fractions to set theory, you will learn how to manipulate numbers and comfortably navigate formulas, applying your learning to real world situations. I have created this class to examine the rules of math, and you will gain a deep understanding of the purpose of math, as well as a slow and steady pace to take you at a comfortable speed. All you need is an attitude and a calculator!

We will structure our work based on the student’s request. If the goal is to improve school grades and gain a better understanding of the school curriculum in mathematics, we will review the topics covered in class during our lessons. We will focus on the areas that are most challenging and unclear. Throughout the lesson, we will go through typical tasks from the classroom. If the student wants to improve their general understanding of mathematics, we will create a personalized lesson plan and follow it. I have an 8 in IGCSE Mathematics and an A at A-Level. I have also recently finished my degree in Economics and Econometrics at the University of York where I got a 1:1 which included me ranking first and second in my cohort for three of my mathematics-based modules. I have been teaching Italian for more than 30 years. I started in Milan, I then went to San Francisco and now here in London. My first lesson with you would be to assess your level and start speaking Italian by writing in the chat if we are on Skype or on your notebook if we meet face to face. I use also paintings to explore vocabulary and if you live here in London, we would meet at the National Gallery for example and explore the Italian language through what we see in the painting.
