Hello!

I am a flutist with a degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I have ten years of experience in teaching, both in music academy and private lessons.
My lessons are open to people of all ages as well as to all levels, and to those who wish to approach the classical repertoire just like popular or current music, the student being free to choose the pieces he wants to play.
I also offer lessons in small groups, a method particularly suitable for children - it is always nice to make music together!
Lessons can be taught in French, English, Portuguese or Spanish.

Experience / Qualifications

I was appointed professor of recorder recorder as well as director of the Curitiba Municipal Association of Recorder (Brazil) for 5 years, following my graduation from the same institution. I have also worked in various academies and also in private lessons and I have been involved in the musical training of many children as adults. For 1 year, I also worked as a soloist and teacher in the State Music Program of São Paulo. I participated in social projects, giving indivual courses or group classes.
My method consists of combining and researching technical and musical elements, working on various aspects of the recorder's game: breath, fingering, flexibility and agility, sight reading, repertoire / songs, stage presence and musicality.
I adapt these aspects according to the needs of the student. The lessons take place in a light and relaxed atmosphere!

Recorder lessons and musical training for adults and children
*English below Experienced music teacher offers recorder lessons and music training for children and adults of all ages and levels! Originally from Brazil, I have been teaching music for several years. Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, I have experience as a music teacher giving private lessons and at Music Academies in Belgium and elsewhere. I develop a unique method for each learner in a way that he or she can learn in a solid and fun way. Because it is an easy instrument to produce sound, the recorder is a good opportunity for children to get started in the world of music. This is already a first contact with musical notation and the development of the ear. I offer the student a fun and dynamic practice where we play music from the first lesson. For adults... If you are a beginner, don't worry! I teach you how to make the first sounds on your new instrument, how to blow correctly, how to maintain good posture... and create, step by step, a solid basic technique that will help you play any piece on the flute . If you are an advanced student, or who already have the fundamental knowledge of your instrument, I offer you an improvement in technique adapted to each repertoire. We will exploit creativity and sound, in order to produce an increasingly beautiful and eloquent musical discourse. Lessons can take place at the student's or the teacher's home in Schaerbeek. Travel costs are negotiable depending on distance. Do not hesitate to contact me to discover this beautiful instrument! I offer lessons to all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to those more advanced. Typical lessons last from 30 minutes to an hour. All of my lessons are tailored to meet the exact needs and preferences of my students, whether that's working towards their next graded exam, playing just for fun, and anything in between. I hold a first class honours degree in Classical Flute from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I studied with Ian Clarke and Philippa Davies, and won the Needlemaker's Woodwind Prize. After graduating in 2022, I was invited to become a Guildhall School Junior Fellow, specialising in Flute and Composition. As a freelance flautist, I have had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Concert Hall and the Southbank Centre. My performance experience encompasses a diverse range of settings, from live radio broadcasts to collaborations with dance and art installations, reflecting my versatility as a musician, and openness to help my students pursue their own personal journey, both within music and as an individual in general. In addition to my passion for the flute, I am also an accomplished composer with a portfolio of commissioned works premiering at renowned venues and exhibitions worldwide. Notable highlights include composing for Wessel Flutes, Berlin Fashion Week, Nxt Museum (Amsterdam), and Adidas Y-3. My work as a composer heavily influences my approach to teaching. Beyond emphasising technical proficiency and a solid grasp of music theory, I am dedicated to nurturing creativity in all of my students.

Laura
Flute and Music Theory tuition for students of all levels
I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

Flute and Recorder Classes in Brussels - beginner to professional - Piano for beginners
Transverse flute classes. All ages from 7 to 107 years old! Recorder and/or piano lessons for beginners too! I was principal flute at the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw (Poland) and have over 45 years of experience teaching repertoire, solo, chamber music and orchestra. Over the years I have developed my method of Conscious Flute Playing, which has allowed me and my students to make the flute sing as we wish. Thanks to this we can learn music theory passively as we go through the pieces. There is also the opportunity to participate in student concerts in Brussels twice a year (December and June). Intensive courses before entering the conservatory, competitions etc. also available on request!

CURRENTLY, ALL CLASSES ARE RUN ON-LINE IVM CORONA VIRUS. HOW WE HELP STOP STOP SPREADING THE VIRUS. Have you always wanted to develop your music talent? This is your chance. I'm from a musical family. As a girl I quickly learned to play the autodidact recorder. Piano and guitar were added at a slightly later age. At a young age music had become one of my passions. Later, after my teacher training, I could not resist further music education. Music is not only my passion, but is also a way for me to communicate with each other. If you don't know how this is possible, you can learn it. My experiences as a teacher and musician were and are still linked to each other. I have gained extensive experience as a music teacher and all-round musician in various fields, such as conducting choirs, drawing up and disseminating curricula for schools, giving musical notes and learning instruments (recorder, keyboard / piano, guitar).
