Professional Physics and/or Mathematics courses for all ages

I have a PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and I have taught mathematics and physics from primary school to undergraduate university level for more than 16 years. Students often experience these subjects as difficult and boring. My goal is to make them accessible, interesting and fun.

I can provide help for students at any level and I adapt my classes to the needs of the individual student. The first sessions will be used to gauge the level of the student and to set short-term, mid-term and long-term goals. We will then work towards these goals in a systematic way, but I also make an effort to expose students to broader applications of mathematics and physics. Depending on the student, we may also discuss the philosophy of science and mathematics during the sessions.

I use the Inquiry Based Learning method in my courses and make a considerable effort in helping students understand underlying principles instead of memorising content. Humour is also an excellent learning tool and students generally enjoy my courses.

About Me

I love teaching people, especially inquisitive students who are amazed at the world we live in (like I am). But I also enjoy students who are willing to try, even if the work is not especially nice for them. If I can make life easier and better for a student in some way, I am satisfied.

I have tutored various subjects for students at school level and I have lectured University-level physics courses. I am thus a highly experienced tutor and I have studied how students learn and understand physics and mathematics in detail.

Apart from teaching, I conduct research in Nuclear Physics and I am an amateur musician. I also like travelling and the outdoors.
