Professional drawing and painting course in different techniques and styles

Learn to make drawings/sketches with pencil and graphite (9H to 12B). Each session will allow you to discover and practice a specific technique. Between two sessions, targeted exercises will allow you to progress in a measurable way, in small steps. In drawing, there are no miracles: it is practice, training, perseverance, which are the sources of progress. All materials will be provided to you (pencils, papers). During the first session, a series of examples of my creations will offer you a concrete overview of the techniques and styles that I can help you master.

The objective of the course is to allow the participant to realize their artistic desires. To do this, it is difficult to define a precise path: everyone has their own abilities and shortcomings, the organization of the course will be around the student. Among the different tools that we work with, we can find, among other things, anatomy, composition, perspective, color theory, the study of movement, the principles of animation... On a more technical level, I am capable and have the necessary equipment to teach both traditional and digital drawing (the same for animation). The courses will mainly be composed of two parts, the first of theoretical explanations, analysis of artists' works and implementation of creative processes... the second of evaluation of the student's work, with in-depth feedback and concrete processes to put in place to improve.

I’m a drawing teacher and artist living in Paris. Since 6 years, I provide drawing class to many publics, from school to urban sketching sessions. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don't always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life.
