I offer classes for two different groups: - Young adults preparing for TOEFL/GRE with sessions focused on solving exercises from the exams and improving the student's skills - Academic English for researchers and people in academia, where we focus on methods, format and language of academic texts. Sessions could be focused on review the student paper A little about myself. I am a Researcher. I lived in the USA twice, as an exchange Student at MIT for a year and as a J1 worker at McDonald's for 3 months. I scored 103 and 112 in the two times I did the TOEFL exam, and I scored at the 99% math percentile in my GRE score. I was born in Brazil, and I am a native Portuguese speaker. I have lived in Leuven for five years, so we can communicate in basic Dutch.

As a native English speaking American, I aim to improve my student's breadth of grammar and understanding of the English language through one-on-one and group lessons, advancing from any level. Having spent all my life in the United States, I also can train my students on the American vernacular and culture. I have a minor in English Literature from a college in Chicago.

Zelf ben ik voornamelijk werkzaam als schrijver van theaterteksten, maar ik heb ook ervaring met het schrijven van liedteksten, literaire vertalingen, essays etc.. Alle teksten benader ik dus vanuit een creatieve insteek en artistieke visie. Als theaterauteur houd ik me ook bezig met hoe een tekst klinkt - klinkt het niet prettig, dan kan hij vast beter geschreven worden. Als coach richt ik me vooral op het geven van feedback op de teksten die je schrijft en help ik je graag op weg met opdrachten om te beginnen met schrijven en/of om het gevreesde writersblock af te schudden. Did you always dream to learn English language and haven't done it yet? I am here to help you out! It is one of the most popular languages on the planet, therefore it is very important to know it. This class is aimed at individuals (either kids, students or adults) who wish to learn it. You can already know basics and would like to continue learning more further on or you are starting from scratch and have a long way in front to pursue. By this class I would like to immerse you into English language environment. For the teaching purposes, throughout the classes, I will use different highly-rated textbooks of local editions, effective YouTube channels, interesting articles. I will cover main functional areas of English grammar and vocabulary within different areas and will make sure that you start speaking since the first class already, since Practice Makes Perfect and English is not so difficult as it may seem at first! The goals, needs, expectations will be discussed in person with every student and adapted towards personality. The program and classes content will also depend on the prior mentioned factors. Economics classes for University level students will be based on student's needs (some suggestions: Econometrics, Microeconomics, Quantitative Economics). For school students, it can involve advanced learning or basic Economic knowledge (aligned to student's needs). English classes will involve writing and speaking practice (based on the student's existing knowledge). I tend to explain things pretty well. I always try to assign homework for further practice. Times can be discussed with me and I do accommodate students based on mutual availability.

I currently work as a private language teacher in Belgium and I have a good level of English. As I am not a native speaker, I do not give advanced lessons. People from any age, including kids, can follow my English lessons for levels A1, A2 and B1.

As you acquire a new skill or enhance the proficiency of a new language skill, you will be guided in grammar, vocabulary, conversations, dictions and oral articulations to aide you in communicating better with other English speakers worldwide...conversational dates, outdoor excursions & day-day routine exercise can be requested. Want to Learn English from a native speaker? I will be offering tutoring exclusively through English. The structure of the class will have a focus on spoken communication on a 1 vs 1 basis. English can be a hard language to learn so I intend to keep the class light and easy to follow. Notes will be provided on vocabulary and grammar to establish a basis of knowledge and focus will be given on how to pronounce words in the given context. Also, I will give feedback on how to structure your written sentences. The class can take place wherever is convenient. Depending on your level of understanding, I can tailor the class to your fluency. Therefore, the aim of the tutoring is to: Improve spoken communication Improve understanding of grammar, vocabulary Improve syntax of sentences to sound like a native speaker My CV can be provided upon request.

I am an American living in Leuven, Belgium. I used to be a cheerleader back home in Louisiana, and have always worked with children. I have a master's and bachelor's degree in history and am currently completing a second master's in social and cultural anthropology. Teaching is one of my passions and I would love to be able to share that while living here.
