About Me

Multi-disiplinary artist and educator passionate about teaching that is engaging and fun! After all, that's how we learn, isn't it?

I am an empathetic and caring teacher who listens to the student needs and I use a range of strategies, including participation, poetry, games and practical ways to break down themes, making arts accessible to everyone.

Inspired by the power that art has to connect people, I teach, curate and facilitate arts workshops for community groups, care homes and social projects. Participants not only learn, but are also encouraged to exchange skills.

I've also created a methodology to run participatory tours through creativity that I customize for these groups in galleries and museums in London, as well as for individuals and small groups upon request.

Creative mentoring for artists who wants to make a difference and stand out from the crowd! I have experience mentoring young people and people changing into an arts career. I also help artists from all stages of their careers successfully applying for grants. Let's embark together on this journey! Mentoring and coaching sessions include: - Find your Voice as an Artist - Writing About Your Art Practice - Developing Your Critical Thinking - Applying for Grants - Portfolio preparation - Spotting your challenges - Resilience for Creatives - Or just tailored to you needs. Please note that the 30min session is ONLY to talk through your concerns and how you'd like to work together in the next sessions. After the first session, we agree what the goals are for you and the number of sessions. I recommend a minimum of five session as it helps establishing trust, time to go through any challenges and for a positive transformational change. Please prepare for the first session: think of what's holding you back, challenges you're facing. But no need to worry much: it will also be an opportunity for me to learn more about your work and career.
Watercolour made easy is for everyone who wants to learn from sketch or who has experience and want to develop your skills further. I'm an experienced and award winning artist, passionated about watercolour. Here, I'm combining both my passions to share it with you! In this class, you'll learn how to use the brush to draw beautiful flowers, plants and (self-)portraits, from 'wet on dry' to 'wet on wet' techniques. The later is a technique that uses wet paint against wet paint or wet paper to create beautiful bleeds and blooms, allowing the watercolour paint to spread and blend. The results can be astonishing! CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ART: UNDERSTANDING AND PRACTICE
KEY OBJECTIVES: • To introduce the right toolkit to take on contemporary art of any kind, no matter how difficult, minimal and conceptually driven it may be. • To learn to spot and call out artwork that is being difficult or challenging because it’s a load of rubbish. • To make you feel more confident when making and looking at contemporary art! How can we be so categorical about something as subjective as deciding if art is ‘good’ or ‘bad’? Think of it like this: If you’re not any good at carpentry, you can still identify a poorly made coffee table. Basically, what we’re going to try to do is understand how to recognise if an artwork has been responsibly made or not. In the case contemporary art that has been made responsibly, this class will suggest that your kid could not have made it, any more than they could have removed your appendix, designed a suspension bridge or landed a crashing helicopter. In the case of art that has not been made responsibly, then yes, perhaps your kid could have made it.

MENTORING IN ARTS : Discover how to say something through your artistic work.
I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

history, geography, archaeology, art history.
History is the vector that allows us to better understand our society, the world in which we live. It is essential for general culture. The level of the course will adapt to the level of the student, from primary to university. It is also possible to adapt it in relation to an exam or competition to be taken, or to a person wishing to complete their general knowledge on a particular subject.

Idris
Painting Tutor: Discover and develop your artistic language
I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don't always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.) Have questions? Don't hesitate to message me! I can tailor a class to your needs :)
