In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals. Over the years, my classes, have proven to raise the confidence levels of students. We practice knowledge in English, on 4 levels of proficiency: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I will focus on your strengths and guide you to how to use those to your advantage in learning. We will elicit your potential. With a little help, I am sure you will achieve the goals you set for yourself.

It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

After my first lesson with Benson, i have felt more confidence in my skills with chemistry than i have in many years. Where I previously felt very subconscious and unable to answer questions, i have now been able to answer difficult IB exams questions with ease. Benson provided me a safe and comfortable environment which has left me excited for my next class at school to show what i have learned with a fresh confidence! I highly recommend this tutor to anyone who struggles with confidence in both themselves and their subjects.

Rayen made an effort to contact me prior to the lesson to determine my level and inquire what I wished to focus on. She also called at the agreed upon time. These may seem like minor details, but not all teachers do these. She had appropriate level material ready to share and go over for the lesson. She made corrections as needed and readings were repeated as necessary. My only suggestion would be that she speak a bit more slowly. but this is a matter of individual taste.
