I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as a Bachelor’s in Classical Singing from Greece. I further expanded my studies with a Master’s in Music Performance at HKU Conservatory in Utrecht. Currently, I work as a cover teacher at the Amity International School Amsterdam and as a Modern Greek teacher at the Volksuniversiteit Den Haag. In addition to my teaching career, I also work as a singer and performer, as well as a vocal instructor, guiding students in their singing journeys. With my experience in both education and the arts, I offer engaging and personalized Greek lessons for students of all ages, whether you’re a child or an adult. My teaching approach is tailored to your individual needs, and I make learning Greek a fun and immersive experience. Who is this class for? Hugh is a teacher unlike anything I have ever experienced. He positively surprised me several times. The way of teaching is very impressive. From the first moment I felt at ease. I was quite insecure about my English language but Hugh helped me completely. In addition to improving my English language, Hugh has also taught me some great life lessons. What sets Hugh apart is not just his knowledge but his ability to connect with the student. His approachability and genuine concern for my understanding have created an atmosphere where I felt valued and encouraged. In addition, he was a fascinating motivator and a great source of inspiration, the perfect example of what an English teacher should be. It is clear that he has a lot of experience in everything that has to do with teaching. After every lesson I went home with a very good feeling. His teaching style is very excellent! Pelagia is the best teacher I could possibly ask for my 7 year old son. I wanted to find a Greek teacher for him, as he is being raised in the Netherlands (Dutch being his first language) and I am Greek. Pelagia is patient, kind, with great teaching techniques, and she really cares about her job. I highly recommend her, she is amazing and my son loves her. We are very lucky to have found her.
