For me, learning a language requires patience, willingness and joy. I also believe that learning something new in French every day is better than learning too much in a single day. I also think that you must use every new word you learn, by interacting and speaking as much as you can. For this reason, each of my lessons always includes all 5 skills according to the CEFR: - Spoken Production: e.g. I encourage learners to introduce themselves and speak about their main interests without being interrupted. - Listening: e.g. I integrate songs, interviews, lectures according to the learner's goals. - Reading: e.g. articles, film reviews, parts of books and news. - Writing: e.g. formal and informal letters and e-mails, personal accounts, journals. -Spoken Interaction: I always spend time in conversation with the student, at the beginning and the end of the lesson, in order to improve her/his fluency and confidence. I also encourage (but not force!^^) students to do exercises on their own too, so that they are more prepared for the following lesson. I am patient and comprehensive, and I organize my lessons according to the learners' interests and personal goals. From A2- B1 level onwards, I try to speak only in French.

As proof, here I am after several years of learning, diversifying my language course offering. After Dutch, German, English and Russian, I am adding Japanese to my range. ○ I teach full-time; it’s not a hobby ○ Good news: for me, learning is not limited to long lists of vocabulary. My classes take place in a relaxed and caring atmosphere, I am in opposition to the strict-rigid framework of some schools In class, we combine learning grammar (a crucial and comforting foundation for beginners) with numerous practical exercises and role-playing exercises so that the student can manage on their own in the real world. Above all, I transform language into a kind of game/code that must be deciphered. It is then enough to "grasp" the logic... It is "enough" of course - but that is my job - I will take care of it! Classes with Rika are great, I've been learning with her for several months now and I'm 100% satisfied. We've had both physical and online classes, I was worried online would be difficult to learn from as it's been my experience in the past but I was very pleasantly surprised and since then we stick to online! After every class, Rika sends me slides of the new grammar we learnt including some sentences for me to translates as homework using the new and previous vocabulary/grammar. During physical classes, I wouldn't receive these recaps (which is a shame) but Rika would make me write down some of our dialogues so I would also practice writing. The way classes work is purely oral practice. Rika will ask me questions in order to create dialogue that I have to express in Japanese and the learning builds up from it. She is soooo patient when I take ages to express my sentence because I'm searching for my words or structure. Very kind and friendly too, you won't feel pressured nor judged to be proficient. Communication outside of class is clear and fast, she is very attentive and flexible. I'm a French speaker but we hold the class in English/Japanese as it's best for us both so I can't attest how it goes in French or Chinese/Japanese but I'm sure it works well too! Highly recommend!

Very friendly and patient teacher. She explains very well and also tells about Japanese culture. During the lesson we write everything down together so that you can always look back at the things you have learnt. She also does a great job at using material from previous lessons so you don't forget and also get a good feeling of progression. The lessons also have a lot of variety and are very interactive. Most important of all though is that the lessons themselves are very fun! Definitely recommend!

Anri is an excellent teacher: thanks to being very attentive, she adapted immediately to my level and speed of learning. We instantly found a set-up perfectly matching my goals combining both online and in person lessons in Naha. I was very surprised to hear that she only just started teaching last year as her style of teaching felt very experienced. Anri clearly loves her work and that makes all the difference. Just like Okinawa, she is a real sunshine person.
