I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam. Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach. In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level). We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength! You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results. My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat. Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level. This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end. Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1 As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities. I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar. Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 24 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles. I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

During the first few lessons I will make sure you have the tools to pronounce and identify all the sounds of the Italian language. This step is essential! And it will make everything easier afterwards. When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling. When you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I will customize my materials to your interests, needs and desired pace. And because you are learning from a native Italian you will also learn about Italian culture and history. You will absorb a way of thinking, not just grammar rules. I speak a bunch of languages so I know a thing or two about how tedious language classes can be. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad book ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of those dialogues are carved in my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. I was thinking, that learning Chinese is extremely difficult, however, thanks to Shan,  this language becomes more and more clear for me. Every lesson is very productive and I feel, that I progress fast! Today, there are numerous teachers, who can teach you Chinese. However, only a few of them can make the educational process so interesting and enjoyable. Luckily for me, Shan is one of them and I am very happy, that I found her. Shan is very precise and corrects every my mistake. She can easily explain how to properly pronounce words with different tones, how to write syllables, the grammar and many more. I like, that with her, I am not just memorising Chinese language, but I do really understand it. Overall, without a doubt, I can say, that Shan is a great teacher! 心💕

I recently enrolled my daughter (Dutch native) in English lessons with this teacher and I must say, the experience has been fantastic.
