Music Theory: Harmony, rhythm, aural skills, music analysis, and history of music – these are some of the topics inseparably belonging to music education. Since I have many years of experience teaching music theory within all levels of education – from basics to advanced – we can find a way how to approach those topics with enthusiasm and creativity and learn as much as possible :)

I have experience teaching all ages and abilities, in individual lesson environments, group lessons, reed making lessons, small ensemble tutoring, and orchestral tutoring. I have experience with all genres of classical music, and have a strong background in music theory, aural skills, musicology, and composition. Lessons with me will incorporate all skills involved to become a well rounded musician. Some of the highlights of my musical career so far have included being principal oboist and orchestral manager of the Australian National University Orchestra and performing E. Goossens' Oboe Concerto at their 2022 Concerto Gala, playing tutti oboe in the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, principal oboe in the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra's Young Mannheim Symphonists Orchestra, and performing in the Olive Trio, a chamber music ensemble consisting of oboe, violin and harp, made up of members of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. Trusted teacher: I am a composer and pianist and I give piano lessons to kids and adults of a wide range of levels! Feel free to contact me if you are interested in learning how to play the piano or if you are curious about music theory or how to make your own music! In my classes, my goal is to approach piano playing in a holistic way, starting with a healthy posture, but also musical expression. We will work on memory, on the dependency of each hand and finger, integrating in every lesson the music theory and singing along with exercises on rhythm (TAKADIMI system of rhythm solfege) and last but not least, creation (through improvisation and other creative tasks) which will offer you the possibility to craft and master in a deeper level your piano skills. The structure and the material of the lesson derive from established piano methods and further music bibliography and they are adjusted to your skills, preferences, and wishes. I am always interested in transcribing some of my pupils' favorite pieces on piano according to their skills, something that often is very useful and fruitful for their progress. In the first lesson we will talk about your interests, motivation, and goals and we will create together a personal course structure. Experience in ABRSM piano performance exams in case you are interested in achieving a grade. Our son enjoyed so much a trial with Myrto! She is a very warm and smiley person, great and natural with kids! She was very patient and handled our 5y son wonderfully. It was very nice to have Myrto as she sparked so much joy and love for music. No hesitation to recommend her! In the end we opted for another teacher who spoke Russian to my son and that was an added bonus for us. Otherwise, we would be happy to continue with Myrto!
