I find this very useful to ensure you are progressing with the guitar at a good pace. I have a strong background in music theory and if the student wishes this can be an integral part of the lessons. Personally, I enjoy teaching theory through the songs you have chosen to learn, analyzing what we play and developing your own intuitive theoretical understanding through this, in relation to your chosen musical genres. Although I am well aware that many students do not feel connected to learning music theory, in which case we can focus more purely on the playing and performance aspects. I have been teaching guitar for several years and it is a real passion in my life. Little makes me happier than seeing my students progress toward their musical goals and develop their own artistry. Lessons Every student is different, and by saying this I mean that I prepare every lesson specifically for each student. Some might be more shy, others might need more time to acknowledge some questions. I believe that music (much like everything else) should be taught with patience and motivation. You shouldn’t feel like you’re going against time, it should be the opposite. As a teacher, I always give priority to your motivation and excitement regarding the lesson’s activity. If I see that a student is not enjoying the lesson I have to improvise and turn it around. When teaching, the most important thing for me is that you learn while having fun. I teach electric, classical and acoustic (folk, flatpicking) guitars, you can learn a mix of these similar yet very specific techniques or focus on the one of your preference. In electric and acoustic guitars the first challenges are pick control, hand coordination and left hand positions (and shifting them). With classical guitar the goal will be using the right hand fingers independently, including the thumb for the bass notes and the left hand will have similar challenges to the other guitars. In classical guitar we will be playing polyphonic pieces (several voices) more often, in electric we’ll focus on chords, riffs and solos and with the acoustic we’ll play also chords with different strumming patterns, melodies, solos and lots of flatpicking exercises. Intermediate to advanced levels. If you want to take your guitar playing more seriously, this is the course for you. After having some control over the basic guitar techniques you may want to take it a little further, improvising, building your own chord progressions and solos and having a next level technique to improve your playing. In Guitar 2 we’ll work with scales, arpeggios, improvising, different picking techniques, more sophisticated harmonies, new chord voicings and tips to play in a group context. We will play blues, jazz and more advanced rock solos and riffs to help you build a strong and confident musical language. One of the things I’ve been doing over the years is helping candidates to University music courses to get ready for their admission exams and getting the skills needed to begin this new step of their lives successfully. Violin and music theory lessons for people of all ages and levels in Den Haag (The Hague)

I like Yulia, my 8 yrs old daughter likes Yulia and here is why: she's the best violin tutor my daughter has had! My daughter is very active and we have had two tutors before and she got on well with the previous tutors on a "fun" level, yet she hardly made time to play violin and each tutoring session became a play date and practicing on violin was a struggle. With Yulia, my daughter actually plays violin now and she's starting to enjoy classical music as well. I find Yulia naturally engaging and for my daughter learning music with Yulia becomes an automatic flow, so she hardly notices that she's had a "long" violin lesson. Now we look forward to seeing Yulia every week!
