I've spent the past 10 years freelancing with some of Australia's best orchestras (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Darwin Symphony Orchestra & Sydney Symphony Orchestra to name a few..), as well as recording sessions for pop/rock artists, film scores and music theatre. I've enjoyed diversifying my career by teaching in Australian schools, and now since I've moved I'm looking to help you with your goals now I'm here in Holland. I've taught students of all ages in classical, jazz, pop approaches to trumpet. My lessons are catered to your interests and your personal development. If you're an absolute beginner, no worries! We'll get you from making fart sounds to fun melodies soon enough. If you're a bit more experienced and wanting to improve your technique, you've come to the right place! I was lucky enough to be taught by some excellent heavyweight pedagogues in the scene, including David Elton (principal trumpet of London Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra), and Tristam Williams (international soloist). I've taken masterclasses with Wycliffe Gordon, Adam Rapa, James Morrison, Wayne Bergeron, Phillip Smith to name a few. I've got so much to share with you from those incredible teachers! Trusted teacher: Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam. I am currently studying pop/rock drums at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht. I play in 2 bands. I also play in many different session projects (from pop to rock). I work a lot with hybrid drums (triggers and SPD) and also teach them with Ableton. The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system. In addition, I can occasionally offer a lesson in Utrecht! If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible! We can work on, among other things: - Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?) Creativity (how can I ultimately make cool parts on the drums myself? Or different parts than what you initially came up with?) - Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!) - Timing (playing along with songs, with click tracks, how can I become more playful with the click?) - Relaxed posture - Drum notation (learning to read drum notes) - New fills, grooves and beats - Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?) - Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton And of course we will play along to your favorite songs a lot!
