My name is Valérie. As a native speaker of French and Dutch and graduated as an interpreter of French / Dutch I have given with great pleasure French language courses for years to all different kinds of students. The lessons are given in French and mainly focused on speaking the language. They are therefore practically oriented. The lessons are tailor-made because I follow the wishes and goals of the students during the first lesson. I think it is important that the student experiences pleasure in learning the language, it is and stays a way of communication!

I want to help people become familiar with the Dutch language. Being born in the Netherlands, I moved to the United States at 8 but learned Dutch at an after school program and from my parents. Now that I am back in the Netherlands, I want to help people who want to learn the Dutch language. Whether you want to learn Dutch for personal reasons or for the "inburgeringsexamen," I want to help by offering relaxed and conversation-based classes at your own pace.

I have successfully completed 6 VWO and passed an English Cambridge exam. Currently, I am a law student with a passion for languages, geology and history and I like to share the knowledge - in peace and with full understanding of the student - and together I look for the best method to make this work! I have been working as a tutor for primary and secondary school students for more than 5 years and have experience with people / children who have difficult learning, have little motivation or where the penny has just not yet fallen.

Each class is tailored to the individual's requirements and/or needs. Want to improve career opportunities; learn or improve business Dutch, which will be the focus of each class. All students will be provided lesson schedules in advance for their review (time permitting). During my Dutch language lessons, I provide engaging and interactive sessions tailored to meet the needs of all learners, including children. I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Between the two lessons you can always ask me a question about the subject what we’ve discussed. If you have a subject what you’d like to learn about the Dutch language, let me know. A qualified language coach with 24 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online. I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam. Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach. In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level). We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks.
