Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience. I will tailor-make the class to suit you.

I've been drumming for 11 years, played in pop, rock, jazz and metal projects and produced more than an hour of electronic music.

My name is Roman and I have been a composer of electronic music for about ten years. A multi-instrumentalist, I began my musical adventure by playing the guitar and then the piano. After obtaining my Brevet d'Études Musicales, I trained in Computer-Assisted Music (MAO), composition, audio mixing and mastering techniques. I work on Ableton Live software. Today, as an artist-author, I regularly partner with other artists and contribute to a wide variety of live performance and music-for-image projects. For the 2024-2025 season, I am participating in several artistic residencies and stage performances. I offer you a personalized, adaptable approach to achieve your learning objectives in MAO: on the menu, composition, arrangement, sound design, mixing... According to tastes! Logic / GarageBand (For more basic classes) are powerful tools to help realise your creative music output, as well as being able to support imagery and or adapt music to picture. I have basic and advance courses, on both platforms, available to support your intentions and ideas or just develop your skills as a basic, intermediate or advanced media composer.
