Piano is an incredible instrument to learn - it provides you with a broad understanding of music, develops listening skills, and great dexterity, increases concentration, and much more. I specialize in jazz piano but teach all musical styles according to the student's needs and wishes. Throughout the lesson we will learn music and songs, technique, harmony, ear training, theory, and rhythm - all subjects of music can be addressed through the piano!

Do you want to learn the basics of Ableton Live, or improve your skills on it, or wish to develop advanced techniques to better use it as a compositional and performative tool? I'm here to help! I'm a songwriter and performer, producing and performing music using Live for over a decade. I've been working on Live as my main DAW for recording, editing, arranging and mixing. Depending on your needs, our classes could be more technical about how to best use all the features of Live, but could also be focussed on using Live as a creative tool for your productions.

Throughout the years I have developed piano skills with which I can play all sorts of compositions by ear as well as improvise variations based on the main structure of a piece. In this course I will show you the practical and theoretical basics to improvise as well as learn pieces on the piano without note sheets. It will not be a "classical music lesson" although I will reference classical music and talk about music theory, music history and the physics of sound a lot. It won't have a "syllabus" either on the basis that every person needs different sets of skills to improve upon. It will be more of a discussion/dialogue accompanying the piano where we will expand on our ideas about music. I'm a DJ, producer, and composer. I've been making music since I was very young. I specialised in electronic music quite early on and now make it my profession. I also compose music for different types of media such as commercials, video game music, etc. Passionate about DJing above all else, it's behind the decks that I get my kicks the most, and I'd be delighted to pass on my passion! I have my own style of music, but would be more than happy to adapt to yours for learning purposes. --- I perform regularly in Berlin in clubs such as Watergate, Sisyphos, Hoppetosse, RSO, Golden Gate, etc., as well as abroad, most recently in Belgrade, London, Amsterdam, Paris, etc. --- About the course: Sessions last 1 or 2 hours, depending on your needs, and can be done in groups of 2-3 people. It's friendly, less expensive, more dynamic in terms of learning and interesting because you get to observe another student practicing, which leads to questions and realisations. . The course can also be done in 1-1 if you're more at ease solo, and for more effective learning centred on you and your pace. I'll give you the keys to finding your own sound/style, discovering new music (dig), organising your libraries, preparing your sets/tracklists and setting up an efficient and intuitive music management system. Classes take place in my studio where there are 2 CDJs and 2 vinyl decks. I teach all skill levels and ambitions, whether you want to play bass a hobby, set up a band with friends or want to prepare for a conservatory audition, I can help you. In my teaching I try to give you the best foundational skills to achieve your musical goals. This means a high level of customization is possible if you have an idea of what direction you want to head down, but I will of course guide you on the way as well. As a bassist my strong suits are Rock, Pop, RnB and Neo Soul but through the years I have recorded and played live shows in a host of different genres (Jazz, Fusion, Reggae, Ska, Hard rock etc) so my teaching is by all means not contained to a few genres, I believe having a good overview over different kinds of music is very important. I am originally from Rotterdam, the Netherlands and have been playing bass since I was 13 years old. I graduated in 2023 with a degree in Electric Bass from BIMM Berlin and have studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston (Summer 2018( and Holland College in Canada (2019-2020). As a session bassist in Berlin I have recorded in many great studios with Grammy award winning and nominated producers and engineers. Apart from this I play for multiple artists and have played shows in venues such as Festsaal Kreuzberg, Columbiatheater, Lido, Badehaus, Maschinenhaus, Kantine Am Berghain, Privatclub and many more. Next to this I teach students both in person and online and occasionally work at a music venue, basically I do anything to always be in a musical environment! I can't wait to get started with helping you achieve your musical goals!

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am a concert pianist currently living in Philadelphia! I am proud to have more than 20 awards from international piano competitions. I’m back in the states in Summer 2024. Here is my story: I started out as a jazz pianist but began dedicating myself to classical music around the age of 14. Two years later I was accepted to the prestigious Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory. I lived in Russia until the age of 18, and even back then I had major success in international piano competitions. I moved to the US to study with a Van Cliburn Gold medalist under a full scholarship at Park University. I later got my Master’s in piano performance at Yale University. While in the US, I played all over the country and won close to ten international piano competitions. During the past two years I have lived in Germany, where I tried to absorb as much experience as possible about the German piano tradition. I am a U.S. green card holder now. My strategy is to teach you to practice as efficiently as possible. Most people are wasting their time practicing the instrument, then get frustrated and eventually abandon it. I will show you how to make your practicing meaningful. The goal is to make it easier and more enjoyable, not harder. I would describe my approach as hands-on, but I am willing to give students as much freedom as they choose. I often ask my students to send me a video recording of their performance so that we can track progress and discuss our goals and objectives together. I send a detailed lesson summary and practice instructions at the end of every lesson. I try to be polite but straightforward. My job is to encourage you but also be clear about what is getting in your way. I am a perfectionist and encourage my students to push the bar as high as is possible at the moment. Although I have experience as a jazz pianist, my formal training is as a classical pianist and I prefer to offer only classical music lessons, yet the repertoire can range from early baroque to the most recent contemporary.
