Piano is an incredible instrument to learn - it provides you with a broad understanding of music, develops listening skills, and great dexterity, increases concentration, and much more. I specialize in jazz piano but teach all musical styles according to the student's needs and wishes. Throughout the lesson we will learn music and songs, technique, harmony, ear training, theory, and rhythm - all subjects of music can be addressed through the piano!

Throughout the years I have developed piano skills with which I can play all sorts of compositions by ear as well as improvise variations based on the main structure of a piece. In this course I will show you the practical and theoretical basics to improvise as well as learn pieces on the piano without note sheets. It will not be a "classical music lesson" although I will reference classical music and talk about music theory, music history and the physics of sound a lot. It won't have a "syllabus" either on the basis that every person needs different sets of skills to improve upon. It will be more of a discussion/dialogue accompanying the piano where we will expand on our ideas about music. I'm a DJ, producer, and composer. I've been making music since I was very young. I specialised in electronic music quite early on and now make it my profession. I also compose music for different types of media such as commercials, video game music, etc. Passionate about DJing above all else, it's behind the decks that I get my kicks the most, and I'd be delighted to pass on my passion! I have my own style of music, but would be more than happy to adapt to yours for learning purposes. --- I perform regularly in Berlin in clubs such as Watergate, Sisyphos, Hoppetosse, RSO, Golden Gate, etc., as well as abroad, most recently in Belgrade, London, Amsterdam, Paris, etc. --- About the course: Sessions last 1 or 2 hours, depending on your needs, and can be done in groups of 2-3 people. It's friendly, less expensive, more dynamic in terms of learning and interesting because you get to observe another student practicing, which leads to questions and realisations. . The course can also be done in 1-1 if you're more at ease solo, and for more effective learning centred on you and your pace. I'll give you the keys to finding your own sound/style, discovering new music (dig), organising your libraries, preparing your sets/tracklists and setting up an efficient and intuitive music management system. Classes take place in my studio where there are 2 CDJs and 2 vinyl decks. I teach all skill levels and ambitions, whether you want to play bass a hobby, set up a band with friends or want to prepare for a conservatory audition, I can help you. In my teaching I try to give you the best foundational skills to achieve your musical goals. This means a high level of customization is possible if you have an idea of what direction you want to head down, but I will of course guide you on the way as well. As a bassist my strong suits are Rock, Pop, RnB and Neo Soul but through the years I have recorded and played live shows in a host of different genres (Jazz, Fusion, Reggae, Ska, Hard rock etc) so my teaching is by all means not contained to a few genres, I believe having a good overview over different kinds of music is very important. I am originally from Rotterdam, the Netherlands and have been playing bass since I was 13 years old. I graduated in 2023 with a degree in Electric Bass from BIMM Berlin and have studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston (Summer 2018( and Holland College in Canada (2019-2020). As a session bassist in Berlin I have recorded in many great studios with Grammy award winning and nominated producers and engineers. Apart from this I play for multiple artists and have played shows in venues such as Festsaal Kreuzberg, Columbiatheater, Lido, Badehaus, Maschinenhaus, Kantine Am Berghain, Privatclub and many more. Next to this I teach students both in person and online and occasionally work at a music venue, basically I do anything to always be in a musical environment! I'm a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter and performer and I offer applied classes on writing/arranging/producing pieces of music using various instruments of your choice, including your computer. I use a 'learning by creating' method, where we focus and go deeper on certain aspects depending on your needs on your music creation process. I like to use personalised methods that matches your desires, rather than following a certain curriculum. The goal is to help you gain or improve awareness on how a piece of music is written and learn various ways to begin and finalise a writing process. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I specialise in advanced Classical and Jazz Piano, Composition and Arranging, as well as fundamentals of Theory of Music for students from ABRSM Grade 5 to Diploma level. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
