Fine Arts and Creative class for adults and children

I give art classes with different kinds of activity. My focus is on drawing, painting, clay crafting and collage. The method is between a classical approach and free attitude. On the lessons a child will start from basic knowledge of shapes, light, shadows, colour etc., and then continue through practice with differen assigments. She or he will work with drawing from life and from imagination. While improving we will work with illustrations, developing characters and create a visual stories. For little children I have a program in which drawing mixes with play. Additionally, if there is interest, I conduct classes in linocut, monotype and lettering.

Art classes provide a different form of knowledge and expression, engaging children’s senses, and challenging their creativity. I believe art should not only be practiced by talented kids, as it can open up new interests, as well as help them develop a set of tools to express themselves better. The classes are shaped towards discovering the multifaceted aspects of art through experimenting with different crafts, mediums, and techniques beyond painting and drawing, as well as familiarizing the participant with various artists and art currents. The lessons are adapted according to the age, as well as interests and inclinations of the student. Considering my background in art and architecture, if there is interest in that, it is possible to dive into related topics, architectural drawing, and model-making exercises (suitable for almost any age).

Through guided projects and individual practice, students will learn to express emotions, ideas, and perspectives on canvas, building confidence in their ability to create both representational and abstract artwork. The class is designed to nurture creativity and provide an engaging environment for artists of all levels.

Crochet can be seen as a form of creative expression, as individuals can use these skills to make unique and personalised items. From intricate blankets and scarves to delicate lacework and hats, knitting and crochet offer endless opportunities to showcase creativity and individuality. It also helps to keep the mind sharp and stimulated, and improves dexterity. It is also known to promote a sense of calm and relaxation, which can help to reduce stress and anxiety. By focusing on the repetitive movements of knitting or crochet, the mind can enter a meditative state, providing a sense of mental and emotional balance.

This combination of art and English class will help children explore their creative ability and, at the same time, gain new language skills. Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

I graduated with a First Class BA Honours in Fine Art from Southampton University. I run workshops for groups locally, and work with therapeutic art techniques. I'm well-versed in grant writing, having achieved 3 successful grants to date and my work is featured in a number of publications. I have been fortunate enough to have works in private collections. My hours are flexible, and the range of mediums I work in is too. I have experience teaching, and am bilingual in English and Greek.
