Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Want to learn more about what's behind classical music? Do you want to learn to write music yourself? Or are you already writing music, and would you like guidance or feedback? Then I can help you with this!I graduated as a composer at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Bachelor) and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (Master). I have a lot of experience writing for solo instruments, ensembles, choirs and orchestras, and electronics.
For music theory, I can take a general, broad approach, or we can focus on certain types of music and explore it, depending on your needs.
For composition, we can discuss the basics if you are just starting or planning to compose. If you've been doing it for a while, we'll focus more on the music you make and discuss it with each other.

About Me
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
My name is Pepijn, and I am a composer. I completed my bachelor's degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and my master's degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Several of my works have been performed throughout the Netherlands, from Amsterdam and Utrecht to Eindhoven, and also outside the Netherlands in New York and in Portugal. I've been involved with music almost my entire life, but it remains an endlessly fascinating subject with an incredible amount to discover. In my music I try not to commit too much to a certain style, because I think that capturing can come at the expense of your creativity. In addition, there is so much good music in all styles that you miss out on a lot of good if you focus on one style.
I do think it is good to have a basic understanding of harmony, rhythm, and instruments, acoustic or electronic, because it simply helps enormously in your creative process if you have something you can trust.

Osian
Cello, singing and theory lessons from bilingual Welsh and English speakerHi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not.
I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too.
I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from
The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Teis
Learn guitar: What, how and why - by an experienced teacher and active professional musicianMy name is Teis. I am a Danish guitarist trained in Jazz music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and USC Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles). I have played since age 7, studied since age 13, and played professionally since age 18.
I work professionally as a band leader, composer, and side person.
After around 25 years of experience on the guitar, I can confidently say that I am equipped to share the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years.
In all honesty: I have never found myself to be particularly "talented". But I am a hard worker. I truly believe that talent is not something you are born with, but something you can develop and grow.
Together we will explore secrets and tips for a healthy guitar routine. We will improve your technique and ear training abilities with direct and fun exercises.
Whether you are just a beginner or an intermediate/advanced guitarist, we can explore the instrument and all its possibilities.
Practicing and playing with a teacher in a one-on-one situation is the most effective way to get better faster, and I advise it to all the guitar and music lovers out there.
In my guitar course, we start from where you are at and set a goal fitting to what you want to achieve. For example, our focus could be a.o.:
Fingerpicking
Soloing
Accompanying yourself
Songwriting
Two ways to go about it;
Single lesson: We go from where you are at the moment, and I help you move forward.
5 or 10 lesson bundle: I will make a detailed plan for you and we will conclude the lessons with a performance of some sort. I will help you elevate and broaden your skill set, in your preferred style, but also ear training and theory. We will build a sustainable practice routine together, and you will get access to a library of practice play-alongs and manuals, that you can use to build a solid platform as a musician!
Looking forward to hearing from you :)

Creative guitar lessons for beginners and intermediateHey peeps!
I love to give guitar lessons in a relaxed mood that will not put pressure on you, only giving you feedbacks that will improve your practice. The first lessons will generally consist of covering the basics by learning simple songs. Depending on how it goes, we will go straight into learning songs that you want to play, where you will learn even more!
I can teach you how to play across several appointments during the week so you'll learn faster and enjoy playing straight from the beginning :)
Keep growing ♥️

One-on-one lessons in classical piano playing. Old or modern music, everything is possible!I have been playing classical piano for 14 years. Obviously a lot solo, but also in ensembles, as an accompanist for flutists, violinists, clarinetists and singers. I was also a paid rehearsal director and pianist for a music theater company for a while and I played concerts in an orchestra.
More importantly, I also enjoy teaching! Whether you are just starting out or have been working for some time, together we can tinker with your technique and execution.

Cello lessons in Dutch, Spanish or English (live or online)Do you want to work on classical repertoire? Do you want to learn songs from around the world or invent your own? do you want to play happy birthday to your best friend with a Cello?
Let's explore together this beautiful instrument with pieces that you like, finding different ways to play one thing, becoming actors on the stage of music... Let's create games to develop creativity and technique, those that will help you to personalize your way of playing .
With music, we learn much more than just playing pieces. I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more.
I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know.
What can I offer?
Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music.
Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish
Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello.
How do I work?
Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. In our first lesson we can get to know each other and then we will figure out what do you want and how can I help you.
For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). Such as relating painting with playing, dancing with playing or literature with playing.
For AVERAGE LEVEL we explore, with already some technique, how to play songs, finding a good sound and feel at ease with the instrument.
Additional Activities:
Once a month I plan a rehearsal with pianist to work on some repertoire of cello and piano. Meetings with other students are also arranged to play duos together. It's very necessary to play with people and not get stuck in our own individual studies!
Do you have doubts or need more information? Don't hesitate to write me a message!

Saxophone and Composition lessons in the Amsterdam areaDuring my almost 7 years of experience teaching privately, I have realized that there are many types of students and that whatever the discipline, as a teacher, you have to adapt and personalize teaching for each person.
This is the method that I apply to my private saxophone and composition classes. With more than 12 years of experience studying and practicing music, with a bachelor's degree in classical composition and pursuing a master's degree in jazz saxophone, my classes are oriented to both languages, reviewing technique, interpretation, examples, sound, language, reading, styles, and methods of practicing both the instrument and the composition.
I’ve designed these lessons for you to learn as much as possible about these super interesting disciplines, step by step, and in a practical way.

Double bass, electric bass and composition lessonsHello
I'm a professional bass player living in Amsterdam. I have a passion for teaching and passing on some of the knowledge that I have acquired during my studies at several schools and heard from the musicians I look up to. I've done my bachelor degree at The Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, and I finished my Masters at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2024.
I teach double bass, electric bass and composition.
Musically I try to be as open as I can. For me it doesn't matter if it's free jazz, traditional jazz, pop or metal as long as it feels good.
I'm a leader of my own group where we combine jazz and indie rock. we will release our debut album this fall.
I'm also a sideman in several groups.
As for composition I have experience with composing for regular jazz groups, big band, string quartet and irregular constellations such as my band with three guitars and three horns.
Some thoughts about teaching:
I believe that the most important thing when teaching is having a good relation to one another and generally just having a good time. If we don't enjoy the process we don't learn.
You should feel comfortable saying how you feel and what you want to learn/don't want to learn. With that transparency I will be able to customize the teaching and balance the curriculum so that I meet your needs while pushing you into unknown territory.
If you're reading this I'm happy that you took your time to read through it all, and hopefully we'll get to meet and talk about music!

Play only what you like! - Sound Design and Electronic Music lessons in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, hardware instruments and/or Max MSPMusic is Play! and everyone is its own game.
Understand and make only the music you like. If it isn't fun, it can't be music!
I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music and playing synths, drum machines, and computers. It's longer than 5 years now!
Electronic music is a very vast world. The possibilities are endless. But do you need to learn everything, or only what interests you to make the music you want to do? From listening and analyzing a song you like, we will go through the necessary knowledge for you to achieve it:
- What do you need to build your home studio in order to create something similar?
- Which instruments (or plugins) are being used.
- Whether or not a knowledge of music theory is necessary.
- And in which different ways / through which paths could you achieve something like what you desire?
At the same time that we analyze and learn, you are also going to be encouraged to create! Practice makes the master, and the more you create, the more familiar you'll be with the tools and the environments that we learn in class. A part of the class is also going to be dedicated to listening to what you created and going through different ways we may improve it.
For people interested in live electronics (live-processing an acoustic instrument or programming live sets), I also have knowledge of Max MSP and I can teach the basics or help you program any kind of device you propose.
PD: I have also experienced imparting piano lessons, which is also a very important part of my professional practice. In case you are interested, it is also possible to mix the two worlds and create any kind of path between piano, synths, beats, and home studio techniques.
Ask me anything, I'll tell you how I could help!
