I am a Clarinet, Saxophone and Vocal coach from Zimbabwe with over a decade of teaching and performance experience from leading a successful solo career and working as a music teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz singing from Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) Lausanne where I am currently studying a Masters in Jazz Pedagogy. I have also studied music in Dublin Ireland, where I acquired a Higher Certificate in Jazz and Contemporary Music from Newpark Music Centre's Berklee Track program whi h is facilitated by Berklee College of Music in Boston. I was the 2024 laureat of the Foundation Casino Barrier Award for talent and creativity and a 2018 winner of the Zimbabwean National Arts Council's National Arts Merit Award (NAMA). Learning basic techniques, music theory, improvisation and ear development are part of the training. The saxophone course is personalized depending on whether it is a beginner or an advanced student. Beginner students will learn the solid basics, such as: good posture, good breathing, producing a beautiful sound, scale exercises, reading sheet music, basic rhythmic exercises. We will perform these exercises from different scores, which I can provide if necessary, and at the same time I also try to convey my own experiences. In general, I first show the exercise on my instrument and then let the student try to play it. We often play together. For advanced students, we will learn more complex pieces, more difficult harmonic and rhythmic exercises, thus expanding the limits of the instrument. Classes also include some music theory and history of music during class. I also consider it important to show how one can work effectively alone.

My name is Federico and I am a professional and Award Winning saxophone player. I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor. I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco. In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso. I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe. I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. In the classes we will address the different elements that make up music in different styles, knowing the particular language of each one. To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know. We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests. I work with boys and girls from different parts of the world as well as with adults and the elderly.
