Welcome! I teach Dutch (both for children, high school students and students) Do you have difficulty with Dutch, do you want some extra explanation or prepare an oral together? Then you've come to the right place! It does not matter whether you are in the first year or whether you already have to take your final exam. I can help you in all areas of Dutch (reading, writing, spelling, grammar, literature). You are also welcome as a student. For example for writing advice, setting up research etc. You are welcome at my home, send me an e-mail and we can get started in the short term.

This class, specifically, is for people who are not native Dutch speakers and wish to sharpen their skills. The level you are on now does not matter, if anything, the less you know the more room there is for improvement! I have been tutoring and teaching Dutch for quite some time and have therefore gained a significant amount of experience. I am very much willing to take the time and make you grow step by step. Or, if by any chance, you need one-time help with for example an assignment then this is fine too!

Welkom! (Welcome) Dutch is a hard language to master, but a fun language to learn. I have 3 years’ experience teaching Dutch as a first and second language to elementary school children abroad. During my language classes the focus is on your personal goals and specific needs. I will adjust my teaching style and materials, based on what you want to learn. This class is perfect for children and adults, for beginners, intermediate and advanced students, wherever you are. Are you preparing for the civic integration exam/ het inburgeringsexamen? I would be happy to help you pass the exam successfully. We will use practice exams to get you more comfortable with the questions and I'll give you tips. We will also look into the grammar points that are necessary for the exam. We will work on all 4 aspects: speaking skills, writing skills. reading skills and listening skills. I would like to hear what your current level of Dutch is, so we can make a proper planning for you. The prices listed are for a class for 1 person.

Prepare in an efficient, intensive way for the ITNA (Interuniversity Language Test Dutch), based on tailor-made exercises. We practice together on language in use, grammar and vocabulary, gap texts, structuring exercises, dictation, presentations and argumentation. With my 25 years of experience as a teacher for children and adults, I can immediately sense which teaching style suits you best. For 17 years I have been teaching local students here in Cape Verde to prepare them for the mandatory European language exams so that they can apply for their visa for Europe/England/USA. I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Teaching children is almost "an art" Not everyone is able to place him or herself in the mind of a child and that is just so important! I teach playfully and at the same time they learn without really realizing they are in a lesson! I do this with diverse lesson material such as pictures, video's, and we are also practicing songs together.
