About Me
I collect my experience as a pedagogue since 8 years. I quickly noticed that each pupil has his own expectation and difficulties. I learned from it to analyse and find suitable systems, methods and practicable exercises for everybody of any level.I have been teaching from the naive 5 years-old kid to the mature 65 years-old lady. But also the wild 13 years-old teenager who doesn’t care about practicing, the curious 20 years-old student who has to learn for his exams and the busy 40 years-old dad who works a lot during the week and enjoys the weekend with his family.
It is important to understand what each of them want, understand their goals in order to elaborate strategies. Some of them would play songs from books, some would learn from hearing and watching. Others would want to play Chords, to accompany their singing, to improvise their own music.
But still, there are two main ideas i always keep in mind:
“To free from notes” has always been one of my most important task. Playing and enjoying music really starts when you don’t look at notes anymore, that’s why I motivate each pupil to play by heart and to take initiative in order to develop their creativity. Important is not how complicate and difficult they play but how easy and free they can express themselves.
When it is about freedom and improvisation, many pupils have tendency to bind it with Jazz even though this music is complicate or not always interesting for beginners. This is my second important point, to find the suitable music genre for any pupil depending on his taste and level. Pop is most of the time a great solution in order to learn the Harmony basics and to play we’ll known melodies.
I am an open mind person, patient and sympathetic. I enjoy to meet new people, to share my musical knowledge but also to learn more, better and deeper.
I believe not everybody can become a World Star, but everybody can learn how to enjoy making music. And that is the most important.
Through the years, i have been playing and recording with several bands from all kind of music genre: Pop, Rocknroll, Soul, Gospel, Reggae, Hiphop, RnB etc... playing Jazz and lounge music in severals hotels (solo, duo, trio).
Dance music for weddings, birthdays or disco parties (House, pop, Techno but also 80 ́s, 90 ́s hits...) leading and arranging medleys and mashups for a 7-man band, using synths, loops etc...
As an Arranger/producer, i have arranged for Bigbands, small strings and horns formations, produced an Neo soul-Jazz Ep for a singer, produced songs for different singers from Pop, Hiphop, Neosoul, House.

Early Classical Piano, All-level Jazz Piano and Music Theory ClassesJazz piano is an excellent route for people who are looking for a less book-focused, more aural approach to learning an instrument. I can tutor beginners to the piano or classical-converts who are looking to experience jazz by condensing my education down into core principles. This method of learning helps you move away from the books and to start enjoying the piano with more confidence and skill. I teach with a strong emphasis on theory and aural listening and with my resources I can take you through basics to more advanced lessons.
I'm also fully equipped to teach music theory classes and to tutor in GCSE and A-Level music (composition, particularly) as well as teaching early level classical piano (up to ABRSM Grade 6).
Whether you're looking for chord skills on the piano or want to become an improviser, these are the lessons for you!

I have just completed my music degree where I specialised in contemporary classical singing and opera. I have experience singing jazz, pop and musical theatre and have completed one year on a Vocal Studies course at a Music Conservatoire. I have Grade VIII in Violin and Classical Voice, Grade VI in piano and Pop and Jazz Vocals and recently achieved a 1st for my final degree recital and composition. The techniques that you gain from classical training can be applied to all genres and give a strong foundation to be able to perform any music you may be interested in. I can also offer help with music theory and shape what I teach to meet your interests and goals. I aim to help you truly love music and gain confidence in your performance and musicianship skills in a safe and encouraging environment. No matter what level/ability you are we will improve your skills and confidence in singing and have lots of fun whilst doing so!

Sing with Sarah - Voice/Piano/Music Theory tuitionHi, I’m Sarah!
I am both an Opera Singer and a classroom Music Teacher. My love for teaching and singing have always lived side by side. I constantly seek any opportunity to share my passion, whether that be in front of an audience or a classroom of students. I have always loved expressing myself through music, regardless of the genre. In fact, in a past life, I really wanted to be a country singer.
My philosophy as a teacher is to have student specific teaching styles that are all about helping YOU achieve the goals that you want to achieve! Whether it be your high school/university recital, auditions, or preparing for a gig, our lessons will be tailor-made to you. My job is to give you the confidence to enjoy your voice.
I am an Operatic Soprano yet I have sung across many genres for many years. Once you have a good technique you will be able to sing in whatever style you choose!
My operatic technique allows me to sing over a full orchestra without a microphone, and without causing vocal damage. In our lessons, I will be able to share with you these tools to healthy singing that enhances your natural tone. You will learn microphone technique, as well as performance techniques that will help you to better convey a character to an audience. I may also help with character development, songwriting, music theory and piano.
For any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Music Composition - GCSE and A-Level Students - Beginners to AdvancedThis class is designed for GCSE and A-Level music students eager to develop their composition skills in line with exam requirements. Through regular feedback, constructive discussions, and assignment of relevant exercises between lessons, students will gain a deeper understanding of music theory, harmony, and instrumentation to enhance their compositions. Piano Lessons (Classical Music and Non classical), Music Theory, Harmony, Musical Arrangement, CompositionAt my studio my students will not only learn how to play the piano, but they will receive a complete musical education in order to achieve their musical dreams. I will give all my best so everybody will get the tools for developing their own voice, helping them to master the instrument and teaching them all the theoretical knowledge they’ll need to make their particular personality shine. Openness, joy, dedication, creativity and passion for music are some of the things that you will find in the international environment of my studio. I care about who my students are and what they have to say to the world, and I will help them to develop it from the very first lesson.
In my class you will not only be able to receive piano lessons but also will learn to understand how the music works as a language. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.
Hope you can join and if so, I’ll be very happy to teach you!
Andrea
Let's talk about music! Musical language, harmony, composition, various analyses, music in its sociocultural context or commented readings(Important! The schedules are now closing with the students I already have, so it is difficult to specify a definitive schedule for September)
Hello! I have been teaching uninterruptedly for more than 10 years and I would like to explain to you what you can find in a class with me:
- To begin, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need or want, from learning for pure pleasure from scratch to preparing for entrance tests or focusing professionally. The needs of each student may vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, etc.
- Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed does not equal lax! only that we will try to resort to dynamic and as practical methods as possible, especially given my character and sense of humor ;).
- Something important to highlight is that I always place special emphasis on the development of hearing, musicality and the analysis of your references. Above all so that you can then make your own aesthetic decisions and feel like owner of your music.
- Last but not least, my tendency will be to give equal importance to different music. We will adapt to your tastes and needs, but here there is no room to say which music is better or worse. Each one will help us work on different aspects of the music and, if we don't know something, we will analyze it side by side until we unravel all its mysteries. The only thing I will do is work on themes and styles that can help us in each section of musical development (melody, harmony, rhythm, orchestration, production, lyrics, semiotics, etc.)
If you like what you've read, don't hesitate to contact me. Learning music is a pleasure and I would love to share it with you!
IMPORTANT!!! Due to the volume of concerts and other assignments I have, I will need to agree on a little flexibility. You will always be my priority and there will only be changes if I really can't find an alternative. I appreciate the understanding.
