About Me

I enjoy learning and love being able to pass on the knowledge I have learnt to others, I have previously taught in person and have learnt that each student has a unique learning style that I try to accomodate as best as I can. For example, if a student is a visual learner, I will include more diagrams within the lessons whereas if they are more of an auditory learner I will include more video clips and give verbal explanations where possible. I will mainly teach using presentations however I aim to make it as ineteractive as possible so the student is actively engaging rather thanjust reading off of a slid, and will also incorporate exam questions into lessons to make students more accustomed to doing questions which should help alleviate exam stress and improve exam results in the end.

Education

I have achieved A-Levels in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry (May 2024 to August 2024)
Working towards a Bachelors in Forensic Psychology (September 2024 to current)

Experience / Qualifications

I have taught tennis for three years and have previously been a study buddy in my 6th form for two years helping other students that were struggling in their lessons.
Comprehension is a large part of the 11+ English exams and I can help students understand what to look out for in given texts and work with students on being ableto answer questions accurately in time. I can help students with exam preparation depending on the school that they are aiming to get into and can give students exam papers that are from past years from their desired school in order to help them work through the test styles that vary slightly from having both sections being written answers or having multiple choice questions instead. I aim to build up a students confidence in aswering so they feel comfortable answering the questions on their own.
Biology is a complex subject and I can help students who may be taking GCSE's this year or who may just be looking to brush up on their biological knowledge. I can also help A Level students who need extra support in understanding their lessons or need help with exam technique and planning. If desired I can provide progress reports for students so that engagement and improvement can be tracked. My aim is to help each students attain the grades that they desire at the end of their learning journey or if they are not learning for exams, to help them reach their learning goals.
Tutoring to help students understant their schools chosen texts e.g. Macbeth, Jekyll and Hyde, Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls etc, as they can be quite confusing and helping students understand how to structure their essays to get maximum marks in as short a time a possible so that the student is able to have time to think while they are writing rather than just rushing. For language, I can help students understand how to structure a short story and help create an idea bank for the student to be able to use that can be twisted to fit into any of the prompts given to them during their exams. Furthermore, I can assist students in creating memorable annotations for the poems they have to analyse which can give them a springboard to work off of during the exam if they cannot think of anything else in the exam.

A Level psychology for a-level students- (Years 12-13)
A Level Psychology is an interesting, engaging subject but can be tricky. I achieved an A* in my exam and can help you/your child achieve those top grades you may need for the future. We will cover material as well as revision techniques and tips I have used myself in the past! I teach the AQA syllabus and have access to past papers, notes and textbooks to aid if needed. We will work on memorising techniques, application questions and essay structures for those tricky 16 markers. As well as covering material in depth in those areas that you/your child find more difficult. I make sure that my students feel confident with the material before moving on and work at a pace suited to yourself/your child.
