Jamie
Piano Tuition for all ages and abilities with experienced pianist and teacher - Classical / Grades 1-8 / Music theoryHi students and music lovers !
Piano is a fun and rewarding way to explore music for people of all ages, whether you've played music before or not, and is one of the most accessible instruments right from the first lesson! I teach with a variety of pop-transcriptions and easy Classical pieces, simple improvisation and harmony exercises, and am comfortable adapting to each pupils own way of learning.
If you're new to piano, or have played before and want to rekindle your love of music, get in touch to arrange a first lesson! I will book us a room with a grand piano at the Academy.
I graduated Master’s cum laude in Piano Performance at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre studying with prof. Peep Lassmann, who was himself a student of the great Russian pianist Emil Gilels.
I have 12 years' private teaching experience, and was employed by Märjamaa Music and Art School as a 1:1 piano teacher in 2018-19. I also have a BMus (Hons) degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and DipABRSM, the standard professional teaching qualification in the UK.
Reviews from current students:
"Jamie is an amazing teacher. I had no knowledge of piano before him and was worried in general of being able to learn. His way of explaining, patience and incredible passion for music gave me the push to try and are reinforcing my motivation to learn more day-by-day. Our classes are alive, fun, and so much like a continuous journey through all the aspects of piano music."

"Jamie makes this comfortable atmosphere, you'll never be afraid to make a mistake. I learned a song already in my second/third lesson. 🙂 "

Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.
My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Oud and oriental Arabic singing lessons with an experienced teacherExperienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years.
My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies.
Please feel free to leave me a message, I will reply as soon as possible.

Cheslava
Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional educationFrom my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons,
cultural studies.
During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant.
My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis).
So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
