Hello! I am Irene, a graduated Master student at HKU Utrecht Conservatorium, and I offer cello lessons to people of all ages, both online and in person. I have more than 7 years of experience teaching both adults and children, in private lessons, group lessons and music schools. I have also taught music theory and piano to beginners. The lessons could work in different ways: regular lessons every one or two weeks, or just a couple of times, etc. I have had students that only wanted to learn a bit, and I also have students that have continued for some years with me. I could also adjust the duration of the lessons from 30mins (especially for younger kids) to 1h. The lessons can be in English and Spanish, and now also in Nederlands! (work in progress!) The lesson can be in the student's home or in my studio in Vogelenbuurt, and also online! Flexible hours. Everyone has different goals when playing the trombone, it is my job to help you achieve them. If you don't have clear objectives yet, I will be guiding you and exploring the possibilities of trombone playing with you. Also, especially for kids, I can help you find a nice pBone. They are lightweight plastic trombones made with great quality and available in different colours! Good technique, and a lot of fun The most important lesson I have learned in my career is that making good music is only possible when you enjoy the process. Of course, good technical skills are crucial but studying exercises that you find boring is not the best way up to proficiency. Instead, finding your unique best approach to improve your skills will get you to the moon! For improving your tempo awareness, would you practice with a metronome or would you rather use a drumbeat sample? Your health is important! Body awareness and breathing techniques Not only wind players benefit from doing sport, acquiring good posture habits, and being aware of their breath. It helps everyone in every single aspect of their lives. A good breathing technique will let you play easily, run for a longer period of time, or sleep better at night. On the other hand, body posture awareness helps with productivity and saves money on the fysio. Life hacks that you cannot miss! Improvisation and open-mindedness That very feeling of creating art on the spot. Only a few experiences can relate to it. When we explore and create, our flow state gets triggered. We are fully immersed in the activity and the world surrounding us vanishes. If you like, we will go on a journey discovering new emotions, colours, sounds, harmonies, textures, styles, genres. And improvising on them. Let's get creative! Technology in music. Recording and producing Let's face it, we are in the 21st century and the possibilities of technology are endless in the audiovisual field. Recording for auditions, producing and releasing your first single, live looping, use of effects... You can learn all that with me. Are you curious? Book your lesson now! Ok but, how will my lessons look like? Breathing practice is one of the best ways to start warming up. It will take the first 5 minutes of your lesson and your body will be prepared to start playing. Then, we would go into working on your specific goals. Perhaps, we are practicing music that demands improvement on the higher register, maybe we are working out different scales for improvisation, or it might be the case that you want to discover a new genre and go deep into it. Reading music, ear training, phrasing, music theory, buzzing and embouchure position, articulations (legato, staccato, accents), dynamics... These are only an indication of what we might work on. The final minutes of your lesson will be the moment to relax. We can get creative, play some tunes together, improvise, or even talk about a specific topic like musicality, art, creativity, technique, theory, or the music industry for instance. Group lessons and ensembles Making music alone is fun, but playing with people brings it to the next level! If you like the idea, I will bring you together with other fellow students for technique workshops, jam sessions, duo with piano, or whatever other activity we might find interesting for you. Alberto, the eclectic brass player based in Utrecht I am a brass performer and teacher that has performed in classical and modern music ensembles for more than 15 years. During this time, I attended innumerable masterclasses and had great fun in various professional experiences such as performing at Tomorrowland, an avant-garde music festival in Malta, or the great symphonic masterpieces with symphonic orchestras in Spain and the Netherlands. I hold a bachelor's and a master's degree in music performance and a master's degree in music education during my official studies in Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Nowadays, you can still find me teaching brass in the Utrecht area, composing and producing my own music at home, playing tuba with a symphonic orchestra, trombone in a reggae band, or improvising trumpet over a techno track.

Learning the Piano can be fun, especially when it is designed to meet your individual needs! Lessons are adapted to each student's preferences, based on their orientation and level, from beginners to advanced students. As a graduate classical pianist and also experienced Jazz musician (currently studying Jazz/Pop Piano in HKU), I can help you work your way around a variety of genres and repertoire in order to achieve your personal goals and express yourself through the art of playing the piano. I can also help singers that want to accompany themselves the most convenient way and also people that would like to use the piano as a tool to write their own music. I use both my own material of sheets and notes that I create specifically for each student, but also several books and a variety of methods. Some basic music theory is usually integrated to the piano lessons I give, in order to have a more complete understanding of the practical concepts but it could also be taught separately.

Hello! I’m Pedro, I’m a violinist from Portugal and I’m finishing my master’s in Maastricht! I offer violin lessons to all ages, both in person or online! I have been teaching for the last six years in the Netherlands, I studied piano for 10 years, and I can also help with music theory! We learn through passion. The more we feel we can receive learning, the more it is transmitted through passion. I was lucky enough to have very good teachers throughout my education and now I want to pass on my knowledge to my students. In my teaching, I want to "read" the student sitting in the room with me and conclude which of the many possibilities might work specifically for him or her. I was trained as a classical musician and over the years I also found folk music very interesting because it connects you with the stories and traditions of a certain country or region. As the principle cello teacher at the International School Utrecht, I have a lot of experience with young people and love to encourage creativity from a young age . During a lesson, I like to focus on playing and aim to have my students making music as quickly as possible. I teach private singing lessons to children, teenagers, and adults in English (for now) and beginner music theory for all ages. I have 20 years of experience as a performer and 10 years of teaching experience and have a passion for sharing music with others through music education. I believe that singing is a joyful expression of each unique voice and person. My teaching philosophy is to nurture students to have a fun and positive relationship with music no matter the level or age. My focus on a classical vocal technique gives the student a clear understanding of vocal technique, including breathing techniques, pitch control, musicality, and the knowledge to explore any genre of song. Basic music theory, rhythm, diction, sight-reading, and ear training are also taught to the student to support a well-rounded musical experience. I also teach students how to practice, giving them the tools to feel confident in their own learning process. Absolute beginners are welcome!

My goal as a music teacher is to make the students able to experience all types of emotions by playing music, understanding the musical process from its roots with a creative approach. My lessons are designed according to the specific needs of each student and the main objective is to guide them in the optimal direction to achieve their full potential in a fun way. My approach to the lessons can provide a lot of creativity, fun and originality. How will my lessons look like From the first lesson, the student will start making music. We will begin learning the basic concepts of music, developing listening and rhythmic skills with fun exercises. Lessons will also be focused on learning the basics of music theory, creating a solid technical base and paying special attention to having a relaxed and healthy body posture. My academic and professional experience has helped me create a teaching method where improvisation is an essential tool for the student. I enjoy working on it from the beginning since it is a perfect way to develop musicality. Playing different music genres together As a musician, another of my sources of inspiration is to get to know and to learn from different styles, playing and experimenting with music from the classical period until the most avant-garde style. During the lessons, we will play pop, jazz, classical and many other styles. I would like to explore the instrument with the student in a fun way, growing, improving, and discovering new ways of making music together. During the lessons the students and I could play together, either playing some duos with the cello or accompanying them with the piano, which is an activity that I really enjoy. Playing together with more people and with a polyphonic instrument from the beginning will give the student clues to learn how to play in ensembles and listen to all the different voices that can be part of any musical composition.

Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
