This bright curiosity fueled me to the International Physics Olympiad, where I won the Silver Medal twice in a row, alongside dozens of medals and special awards from other international competitions, such as the European Physics Olympiad or the Asian Physics Olympiad. 5 years ago, I decided to share my love for Physics with other students, so I became a private tutor. So far, I worked with students of all ages and difficulties. From students with difficulties to students who wanted to be selected for the International Olympiad. From middle school, up to the university level. All my students saw tremendous progress, with many rising from the bottom of the class to the top, and others dominating the rankings of the most challenging Physics competitions. Trusted teacher: Piano leren spelen is ontzettend leuk! Je kunt dan iets wat de meeste mensen niet kunnen, maar wel erg graag zouden willen leren. Je leert noten lezen, ritme tappen, beide handen tegelijk gebruiken, hard en zacht spelen, akkoorden herkennen en nog veel meer. Pianospelen is een echte kunst, maar bijna iedereen kan het leren! Als je regelmatig oefent, zul je versteld staan van jezelf. We beginnen met een goede basis, zoals de juiste zit- en handhouding, muziekschrift lezen en in tempo spelen. Voor gevorderde leerlingen ligt de focus op articulatie, dynamiek, frasering en hoe je in een klassieke of populaire stijl speelt. In mijn lessen ligt de nadruk op ritme en expressie. Het gaat er niet om dat je iets supersnel kunt, maar dat je een pianostuk met gevoel en in het juiste ritme kunt spelen. Ik ben nu 41 en speel piano sinds mijn 8e. Ik begon met eenvoudige stukjes en kreeg les van verschillende leraren, waaronder Sherry van Baaren. In Enschede studeerde ik bij de Russische pianist Michail Markov voor de juiste interpretatie van klassieke muziek zoals Mozart-sonates en romantische stukken. Dit alles heeft ertoe geleid dat ik nu zelf pianoles geef en daarnaast ook mijn eigen pianomethode heb geschreven. Ik werk als leraar op een internationale basisschool in Nederland en ben gewend te werken met kinderen van 3-12 jaar. I had a great first lesson with Mariela. What I found most important: - Mariela ensures you're comfortable. Her kindness and calm confidence work wonders for a self-conscious and nervous person like me. - Explanations! Everything is clearly explained, so you always know why you're doing something and how to do it correctly. - I loved the flexible approach: if you know exactly what you want, she'll help you achieve it, but if you're completely lost, she's ready to guide you, offer different options, and give you advice. No pressure, but lots of support. - I feel like Mariela has many different teaching strategies for various personalities and goals, which is awesome. Plus, she has a lot of cool vocal tricks up her sleeve! - It's obvious that Mariela loves both music and teaching, which is so inspiring. Overall, I had a very fun and productive experience and will definitely continue studying with Mariela!

Best piano lesson I've ever had! Admittedly, this was also the first lesson I've ever had - however it was every bit as good as I had hoped it would be. Starting at the ripe old age of 35 I was slightly concerned that I might be too old to start, but Deniz made the whole experience very easy to enjoy, and she adapted the lesson around the very little bits I was able to do, while filling in lots of information that I didn't know. Looking forward to carrying on my training and would highly recommend to anyone that's thinking of taking the plunge.

Russian language from Beginner to Advanced Online and Offline (Amsterdam)

In terms of vocabulary, I had a good foundation through Duolingo. Decided to take one-to-one lessons with Palina to also improve grammar and listening and speaking skills. Now at lesson 4 and very happy with my choice :). After saying hello (in Russian of course) the lesson starts with a listening or speaking practice, followed by a short repetition of the grammar rule of the previous lesson and the introduction of a new grammar rule. Keep in mind, however, that the structure of lessons may depend on your level of Russian.
