Trusted teacher: Nowadays, English is indispensable in society and is therefore compulsory in school. Would you like to learn English for work or study? Or are you going on holiday to a country where English is spoken? Perhaps your child is struggling with English at school and you want to give him or her extra support. I'd love to help you! I am bilingual Dutch-English with a lot of speaking and writing experience, speak English daily with my Australian partner and enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. In addition, I have a lot of patience for people who have difficulties with different parts of English. I can offer help with sentence structure, grammar, pronunciation, reading skills and vocabulary practice, in order to give you or your child more certainty and guidance in the language. With students I focus on the problem points that exist and I use the school method. If, for example, it appears that a solid foundation is still missing, I can jump in and offer support in learning this. For (young) adults who are not (or no longer) in school, we will mainly focus on vocabulary, correct sentence structure and grammar in the beginners' lessons. However, I also quickly start speaking, reading and listening. With advanced students I focus on, among other things, speaking and listening skills and advanced word use by holding conversations together, watching documentaries and reading books. For starting students I use the books of "English for Everyone" and expand my lessons myself with extra materials, such as tailor-made exercises. Nothing else is required, and everything is possible in consultation.

Mar - Utrecht44€
Trusted teacher: Looking for a piano teacher? In Utrecht you will find the friendly Spanish professional pianist Mar. She lives in Utrecht and studies at the Rotterdam Codarts Conservatory of Music, and has already a master's degree from the Utrecht Conservatory (with pedagogical training as well) She teaches in English, Spanish, Italian, German and soon in Dutch. Lessons can take place at your place or at my place (in the centre of Utrecht) as I have a beautiful grand piano at my disposal. For young, teenagers and adults, all levels, no previous experience necessary. Hallo allemaal! My name is Mar and I am a 26-year-old professional pianist (with pedagogical training) graduated from the master degree in Classical Piano Performance as soloist at the Utrecht Conservatory, now studying a second master in Piano Performance in Rotterdam, Codarts. I have been working for 12 years as a piano and music teacher (I started very very young, when I was 14 years old, because I always liked teaching): I have experience in private lessons and official state music schools, with children from 2 years and adults of all levels, both individually and in groups. I have taught piano, music and movement for children, music theory, solfeggio and choir. I finished my bachelor studies with the highest marks, I have experience as a concert performer and have won many international prizes in competitions as well as scholarships prizes. I hope to have the pleasure that we both learn by making music together, do not hesitate to contact me! Flexible timetable and teaching adapted to the student's preferences

Trusted teacher: Let's begin (or continue) your musical journey! perhaps this is the first time you are trying the violin/viola....or perhaps you are picking it back up after many years...maybe there is something or somewhere specific you would like to be able to play or your goal is to simply explore your musicianship to enjoy playing more. If you would like to come for any of the above, my goal is to create a path with you (or your child) that reflects and discovers your own musical approach in order to help you build and achieve your musical goals. I offer 30 minute lessons - these tend to be for beginners, as we build up technique, stamina, music reading and exploring the instrument. These can be offered in combination with 30 minutes of Musicianship, in which we build skills that develop musical hearing, rhythm and other fundamental music skills through games, exercises and composition, catering to each students needs. If you are interested in sharing a lesson at a beginner level, this can be a fun way and motivating way for children to learn, however this would be reviewed regularly to make sure each students goals are met. I would recommend 60 minute lessons from intermediate players/adults, due to complexity of pieces and exercises. Goals of the Instrument classes range from: Making music from day 1 Learning the technical craft of playing an instrument through exercises, studies and pieces Setting achievable goals technically and musically Creating a unique learning journey that celebrates each student Developing 'inner ear' and musical skills both off and on the instrument Regularly reviewing ways to keep motivation and development growing outside of lessons Performing opportunities both solo and in groups (if desired by the student) and ....most importantly having fun while we do it! About me...I have worked as a music educator and instrumental tutor in schools, academies and private settings for 12 years in England, whilst being a freelance professional player and conductor in orchestra, chamber music, musicals and community music setting. My instrumental tuition and approach has been influenced by different schools of classical musicianship such as Suzuki and Kodaly, but in growing as a musician myself I also enjoy and encourage improvisation and exploration- inspired by today's educators such as educator Christian Howes. My aim is to help you discover, strengthen and be proud of your musical skills in order to prepare you to play the music you dream of playing. Lessons available in English and Dutch. I look forward to meeting you - if you have any questions do get in touch!

Hernan

Hernan is not just a good teacher but an exceptional one. I have had only one lesson with him so far, but I got so much from it, that I am looking forward to the next one. He went above and beyond from the beginning. He is very modest and professional in his teaching style, which makes it easy to absorb what he teaches. I would say I am an advanced composition and intermediate orchestration student with decades studying and composing by myself. I had been thinking about taking some advanced online courses available on the internet, but almost all such courses are really work-on-your-own courses. They might have Facebook groups available at best, where you can post questions. But they cannot compare to having a real teacher with the hands-on knowledge guiding you one on one. That one session was packed with so many great insights which I could have never gotten out of any video course or book. Only an insider of orchestration craft and the music composition industry could have such insights. I am looking forward to what I can learn in future lessons. UPDATE AFTER 15 LESSONS: I stopped after 15 lessons because honestly it will take me a long time to process and apply everything Hernan has given me. I will be applying it to my large portfolio of compositions, and I know my compositions are going to be much more mature and well-crafted after I apply what I have learnt to them. I have a completely tranformed attitude and understanding of music composition and orchestration craft. I thought it was simply a matter of learning additional material to get me to the advanced level of the masters. But I have learnt it is a whole world of nuances, subtleties and experience that the masters had a grasp of that allowed them to create at that level. Hernan has given me a good initiation into that world. I have also acquired tools and skills that will allow me to continue the journey on my own. Thank you Hernan.

Panagiotis
rating star
rating green star
From day 1 Panagiotis has tailored my lessons to my personal music tastes which makes learning the instrument all the more enjoyable. His lessons allow me to learn songs to build up my repertoire as well as providing some more challenging songs to push my technique and skills. Although I did not specifically start lessons with the intention of learning any music theory Panagiotis has a way of making theory accessible to everyone and I now begin to actually enjoy learning it, which helps support what I do on the instrument. Panagiotis is clam, patient and has an approachable manner and is very supportive throughout the lessons and provides lots of positive encouragement.

I have been taking Persian classes with Vahid every week for 7 months now and could not recommend them enough! It's been a very great online learning experience. His classes are very complete, with original teaching material, that allow you to practice reading, writing, speaking and listening with ease. I have taken many language classes in the past, and these were by far some of the best and most efficient I have had :)
