Trusted teacher: Welcome to my Foundation Course in Science and Maths, specially designed for primary, secondary, and high school students in Amsterdam. This course aims to build a strong foundation in these critical subjects, ensuring students excel academically and develop a genuine love for learning. My teaching approach is focused on making learning enjoyable and engaging. I incorporate interactive activities and hands-on experiments to bring Science and Maths concepts to life. By involving students in these dynamic learning experiences, I aim to transform abstract concepts into tangible understanding. Each session is thoughtfully designed to keep students interested and motivated, minimizing fatigue and maximizing retention. I believe in simplifying complex topics, breaking them down into easy-to-understand segments. This approach helps students grasp and retain challenging concepts with ease. Techniques such as mnemonic devices, visual aids, and real-life examples are integral to my method, ensuring that formulas and concepts are not just memorized, but truly understood. Regular assessments are conducted to track student progress and identify areas needing improvement. These tests also prepare students for their school exams, ultimately boosting their confidence. I understand the importance of keeping parents informed and involved in their child’s academic journey. That's why I provide weekly reports detailing their child’s progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. This continuous feedback loop ensures that parents are aware of their child’s development and can support their learning at home. Encouraging words and positive feedback are integral to my teaching method. I strive to build students' self-confidence and to instill a love for learning through positive reinforcement. Setting achievable goals for each student, I celebrate their successes and motivate them to strive for excellence. This goal-setting approach not only drives academic success but also fosters a sense of accomplishment and self-worth. As a tutor, my satisfaction comes from seeing my students excel and reach their full potential. My ultimate goal is to empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in Science and Maths. I am always available to support my students, offering additional help and resources as needed to ensure their success. I foster an open environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, no matter how simple they may seem. This curiosity drives deeper understanding and encourages a proactive approach to learning. By incorporating games, puzzles, and interesting activities, I ensure that learning remains fun and engaging, keeping students excited about the subjects. Join my Foundation Course in Science and Maths and watch your child develop a strong foundation, confidence, and a genuine love for these essential subjects. Let’s work together to achieve academic excellence and make learning a fun and rewarding experience. “Excel in Subjects, Soar in Confidence!”

Trusted teacher: English has become the Lingua Franca of our times. It's a valuable skill to possess, beneficial for everyone. It comes handy in the ever-developing world that we live in and opens doors to many places, also in the mind. Additionally, bilingualism enhances the cognitive skills. Whether you'd like to improve your speaking skills and break the language barrier or you wish to prepare better for an English exam, I come to an aid. In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals. Over the years, my classes, have proven to raise the confidence levels of students. We practice knowledge in English, on 4 levels of proficiency: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I will focus on your strengths and guide you to how to use those to your advantage in learning. We will elicit your potential. With a little help, I am sure you will achieve the goals you set for yourself.

Trusted teacher: Welcome Student, As a graduate of the Bachelor's program in Mathematics and Computer Science and the Master's program in Mathematics, I've noticed that many students struggle with many subjects. These are often also the most crucial for their progress, as many future courses build on them. If you're a Bachelor's student facing the same challenge, you've come to the right place. We'll review the material together and work towards your exams, so you can confidently take them. From a 'birds-eye view', many of these courses clearly have specific types of assignments that you must be able to pass your exam. We pick out these kinds of assignments and we will train you together in order to master them. In addition, we will counteract your weaknesses by going through assignments and theory about it. To give you a clear idea of which courses I've taken and how I can help you, I've included a list of my completed university courses below (all with a grade of 7 or higher). Note that I studied in Utrecht myself, so your courses may be titled differently. Haralambie

rating green star
Haralambie has provided incredible support throughout our sessions in a variety of challenging areas of mathematics. The breadth of Haralambie's expertise is evident in the many ways he can demonstrate the idea. I have benefitted from Haralambie's clarity in showing the relevance of specific theorems and how they connect with upcoming material. I have learned a lot from our sessions and he marries the conceptual gaps that come up by explaining the ideas and properties very well. Haralambie provides guidance, patience, and context to the topics covered in subjects that are otherwise disorienting. We work together to hammer out a conceptual stump. My learning experience with Haralambie is fun and engaging, and his input and guidance has been incredibly helpful in elucidating areas that I have missed which improves my approach to future problems.

Prashil

rating green star
We are incredibly grateful to have found Prashil through Apprentus. He has been tutoring our son Floris, who is currently in Grade 10 at the International School of Utrecht and follows the HL Maths curriculum. Floris is highly gifted but also has dyslexia, which presents unique challenges in his learning process. Prashil has proven to be the perfect match for him. He is calm, patient, and adapts his teaching style to Floris’s needs in a way that builds both understanding and confidence. Prashil’s structured and thoughtful approach has made a significant difference, and Floris truly enjoys their lessons. We highly recommend Prashil to anyone looking for a skilled and empathetic math tutor.

Superb experience with Raef. I asked for his help to prepare a math assessment test with an enormous lack of basis but he accepted the challenge. I found out a nice teacher who is not afraid of explaining and repeating if necessary. I did enjoy his method with the whiteboard, it feels like you are in the same place and can interact on the same exercise. Either in English or french he will certainly be able to help you. He is super kind and flexible, I definitively recommend his services.
