Trusted teacher: Merhaba! About me: I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities, and I suppose I gained success. 😀 I have been teaching Turkish professionally for 14 years. I also taught Turkish for 4 years when I was a university student. I learned Ottoman Turkish at the university, so I'm familiar with Persian and Arabic vocabulary. I also studied Persian, German, and Italian grammar. I completed my master's degree in Ottoman history and spent a semester as an Erasmus student at the Turkish Studies Department of Leiden University. I am interested in literature, cinema and TV series (nowadays Korean). I write books and movie analyses in my spare time. Me as a Teacher: I hold firm to two main principles: providing a comfortable environment and creating an encouraging atmosphere. My students always tell me that I am patient, positive and well-organized. I consider I developed an aptitude for making learning Turkish much easier, more efficient and more practical. My professionalism also allows me to tailor language education according to individual interests, needs, and capacities. I use a book prepared by a university in Turkey. You will not hesitate to make mistakes. After a while, you will realize your mistakes and start to correct yourself. Do you think that learning Turkish isn't easy? By progressing systematically in your learning journey, you will not feel the difficulties and will enjoy it. My lessons & teaching style: Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid knowledge of grammar because Turkish has a very different structure. I use a book set that Istanbul University prepares. The course book is structured with a strategic approach to learning Turkish by using all the language skills: reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking from A1 to C2. All these skills are essential for conversation. The workbook includes many exercises for homework or revision. I support the book with my authentic materials. I use a board that you can see anytime, and you can edit it, too. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons. I will share all the materials (books, audio, videos, authentic materials) with you according to your level. Important note: In group lessons, for example, to complete level A1, you need to take approximately 120-150 hours of lessons. There are 5 levels in total in Turkish: A1-A2 level (basic), B1-B2 level (intermediate), C1+ (advanced). By taking private lessons, you can complete all levels with an average of 2.5 times fewer lessons. For example, I recommend that you complete a level such as A1 beginner level in an average of 3 months. Since there are 5 levels of books in total, you can complete the learning in an average of 15 months. Of course, I am telling all of this to show you how and how much of a learning plan you have. This way, you can spend time and focus on Turkish and complete all levels with speaking practice.

Trusted teacher: After graduating from high school, I went to Egypt for language education and studied Arabic for 8 months. Then, when my application for undergraduate education in Saudi Arabia was accepted, I started my education life in Saudi Arabia. During this time, I graduated from the three-year language institute at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with an 81 degree. Then, I completed my four-year undergraduate education at the university where I studied. Due to the pandemic, I continue my Master's education via distance education at the university where I graduated. I have native level reading, writing and speaking skills, especially in fasih Arabic. I have a certificate of oath as an Arabic sworn translator from more than ten notaries. I also serve as a Judicial Translator at the Istanbul Courthouse. For a long time, I have been giving private lessons to expatriate families and people from Turkey, especially the children of expatriate families, who want to learn Arabic. In addition, I serve as a sworn translator in many notaries. I can guarantee that someone who does not even know Arabic letters will be able to read and partially write Arabic letters in as little as 6 lessons, provided that the homework I give is done. Due to the pandemic, I teach my lessons online using a graphic tablet designed for private lessons and graphic drawings, so the lessons take place in a classroom environment. You will appreciate how useful and efficient the online webcam lessons are, which you have already remembered with the work we have done from the first lesson.

Talk and Understand Turkish easily and well with Başak who is an Experienced and Patient Teacher for Adults and Kids-Online/In-Person Lesson (Maltepe)
Başak
I am following a class with Başak to learn turkish. The lessons are held in english. This course covers pronunciation, grammar and free speaking which are also adapted to daily life situations as well as speaking about yourself. I have experienced a very well organized and structured teacher on a professional basis. The teacher gives clear instructions, pays attention to the pronunciation and corrects you when needed, which is crucial for the turkish pronunciation. The course fees contain the tuition as booked and course material as the class is accompanied by a book (workbook and exercise book) and audio files. The books are sent to you in advance, makes it very convenient to take a print out or as a digital version on your tablet/PC/phone. Between the lessons homework will be assigned and checked by her via mail and discussed in the next lesson. So far, I am very happy with the lessons and I am also confident that I will improve my turkish steadily in the future with her. Thanks
