I motivate students, showing them the benefits of exploring their unique talents, but also not hiding the need for continuous work and with some obstacles, sometimes difficult, to overcome. I let the students bring their own musical choices and, over time, I also recommend material that I think may be useful for a faster, simpler, and more efficient evolution. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to begin by studying musical notes and notation before delving into songs. Dedication and hard work can yield significant progress within a year, enabling you to play simple tunes. However, if you lack a passion for music or the instrument itself, I advise against pursuing it.
