Approach to Teaching
– I favour a structured approach to teaching. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs.
– Academic lessons tend to be structured around specific sections of the syllabus, or particular topics that students require help with.
– I employ a seminar style format. I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary which my students can use to develop essays, essay plans, revision tools, and exam revision packs.
– I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli.
– I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing short points of rest or temporary closure, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. I am also happy for students to interrupt the flow of the lesson if a burning question arises.
Lesson Structure
– Academic lessons tend to be 45–60 minutes in length, but I can adapt my teaching schedule to provide students with additional support if needed.
Academic Credentials
– I am studying for a PhD in Music at the University of Cambridge.
– I hold an MPhil in Music from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Historical Musicology and Musical Aesthetics.
– I have a first-class music degree (74.4%) from the University of Manchester, where I won three Hargreaves Prizes for Academic Achievement. I studied violin with Julia Hanson (formerly of the RNCM) and Sophie Rosa (soloist, former teacher at the RNCM and Cheethams School of Music).
– I hold a distinction (92%) for an ATCL Diploma in Violin Performance.
Professional Credentials
1. Teaching
– I have over a year's experience working as a freelance academic tutor with many different organisations and online education platforms.
– I have worked as an Assistant Music Teacher, which involved teaching Music A-Level students.
– I have worked as a Violin Teacher for 8 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills.
2. Violinist, Recording Musician
– I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films. Recent highlights include the BAFTA-nominated score for the BBC docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021).
– I have extensive experience as an orchestral musician and chamber music performer. I led the University of Cambridge Experimental Music Ensemble (CUEME) when I was studying for my masters degree at the University of Cambridge. I also led the University of Manchester Chamber Orchestra in the second year of my undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester, and premiered a good deal of new music with The Eskandari String Quartet.
– I have performed at the West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), the Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), Buxton International Festival, Manchester International Festival, and the Bridgewater Hall.

Reviews (1)
My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour.
Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!
Approach to Teaching
– I favour a structured approach. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs.
– Violin lessons tend to be carefully planned to focus on specific technical aspects of performance. To train musicality, I often teach this through the use of Kreutzer and Fiorillo etudes, Dont studies, and also pieces of repertoire catered to the student's musical interests and technical requirements.
– I am open to considering student repertoire suggestions if they are particularly passionate about a certain piece.
Lesson Structure
– Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters for a student's requirements.
Credentials
– I am a Musicology PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge.
– I have worked as a private violin teacher for 7 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills.

"Online Turkish Lessons with a Guaranteed Speaking Practice with a Turkish Teacher 🤓 / Over 6 Years of Experience 👨💻 / Easy Learning MetHello, my name is Yunus. I'm Turkish and live in Izmir. I can't wait to learn Turkish with you.🤗 I love teaching Turkish. If you want, I would like to briefly tell you how we can learn Turkish.🤓 First, in our first lesson, we determine your level together📝 and start our lessons suitable for your level. Our lessons include reading📕, writing✏️, listening🧏🏽♀️, and speaking🗣️. I want you to read and translate reading passages in the reading section. Here, we write down and memorize the new words and verbs we learn.🧠 Then, after listening to a text related to our topic, I want you to explain in Turkish what you understood. Of course, understanding the texts might be a bit difficult at first, but we overcome this and learn together. 💪Then, we come to the most fun part, of course, the speaking part. In this part, we talk about the texts we have read and listened to before. Of course, we try to use new words and verbs more. I love people who talk a lot in my classes. It's not a problem even if it gives me a bit of a headache🤕😁 As long as you learn🙏❤️. And finally, I give you a writing assignment related to the topic and eagerly await our next lesson. Also, you can contact me anytime outside of class.📲 I look forward to having you in my class and getting to know you and learning Turkish together. Take care.👋🏾

Private lessons to learn Japanese culture and languageKonnichiwa!こ ん に ち は!
Are you going to Japan? Do you like Mangas? The culture and the Japanese language attract you but you never dared to start?
On the contrary, you already have a good foundation and want to take the JLPT exam? Or maybe you have to speak Japanese at work?
My courses are adaptable according to your level and your objectives:
- Discovery of culture and language (great beginners and false beginners)
- Improvement to prepare JLPT 1-5 exams
- Professional needs
We can work writing and speaking, with a method (Japan Foundation) or any other desired medium.
Whatever your motivation and level, Maki Sensei is here to help! (^ O ^)

Learn Armenian language, grammar, literature and history in Western Armenian.Western Armenian is a language that has been put in the endangered language's list, and I personally believe that such a rich language should never die. I believe that I am taking a huge initiative to be one of the individuals who'll try to save this important language from disappearing.
I try to make my lessons as interacting as possible. The lessons and exercises will be provided through PowerPoint presentations. I try to listen to my student in order to prepare the lesson plan together, according to his needs and preferences.
I've always been the smiling and friendly tutor who makes the student comfortable during the lessons. I believe that in order to reach the students you need to understand them also emotionally and psychologically.
