Cello is not just an orchestral or chamber music instrument! Learn modern styles and techniques of playing cello, whilst also building a strong traditional technique. This is a good class for students who already have some music training and wish to expand their knowledge into performative or production areas - such a using loopstation, sound design on the cello, finding your 'voice' as an artist. Or simply for those who wish to explore music outside of traditional genres - learn how cello is used in genres such as electronic music, pop music or rock!

I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music. In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works. I am actively engaged in playing within the music scene and have a real excitement for all types of music, whether it’s learning your first chords on guitar or working on improvisation or music theory. I'm a songwriter and performer, producing and performing music using Live for over a decade. I've been working on Live as my main DAW for recording, editing, arranging and mixing. Depending on your needs, our classes could be more technical about how to best use all the features of Live, but could also be focussed on using Live as a creative tool for your productions.

Hi, I'm Chris, 33 years old and would be happy to explore the guitar with you. I completed my Bachelor of Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim and mainly play jazz, funk, blues, rock and samba/bossa nova. When teaching, on the one hand it is very important to me to respond to your wishes and musical goals and on the other hand to convey instrumental-specific basics. And all in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space for trying things out and having fun with the music, because that's what making music is all about!

Hi my name is Anne. I play the violin and the viola and I have studied at the conservatory at ArtEZ Jazz & Pop. During my studies I started to build by violin teacher practice. Apart from my private students I taught at the music school "Muziekdorp" in Wijchen and coached a band of high school students for a year. Next to teaching I play concerts with the "Metropole Academy", I have a string quartet "The Four Frogs in te Woods", and I'm playing in a Folk string duo. Students of all ages and categories are welcome in my lesson. Classical, Folk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and free improvisation are some of the genres you can discover in our lessons. I did a Teacher Training with the American Violinist Mark O'Connor and finished this training with a diploma. His method is a very beautiful and comprehensive way to learn the variety of the violinistic possibilities. We will play a lot of music together. Starting with a correct violin posture you will develop a brought variety of techniques to find your own style. Being able to play an instrument is an enrichment for everyone! Whether you're looking to improve your overall musicianship as an already-seasoned musician or learn the basics, I am ready to work with you! As an active composer, performer, and music educator with a Master's Degree, I have years of teaching experience with various ages and levels. Theory topics can range from counterpoint, form and analysis, triads, harmonization, figured bass, 12-tone analysis, to introduction to note-reading, patterns, and more. We'll examine various repertoire from the Baroque through the music of today. Ear-Training instruction can include a mixture of sight-singing, rhythm exercises, melodic/harmonic dictation, chord recognition, and more. Composition lessons will be centered around developing and expanding your compositional voice, with special attention to form, theatricality, expression, and understanding of instruments. Your lessons will be designed to fit your personal level and goals! I bring 15 years of composition experience, 14 years piano study, and 13 years of intensive vocal training to my work as a theory, ear-training, and composition educator.

Like with languages, intuition plays a huge part in learning an instrument. Most often in music, the correct choice will the the one that ~feels~ the most natural. This is what my teachers, from when I was a kid, all the way to the end of my studies at the conservatory, have prioritized in lessons; Working less hard to sound better. I’m here to help you in the same way, to decipher with you certain sounds, certain gestures in recorder playing, so that we can map out together your skill set, and eventually find your own style of play. When it comes to the grammar part of music, I’m ready to teach you everything about reading notes, intervals, chords, and all the principles of music theory, with examples and fun exercises. I am a very patient person, and have experience with beginners as well as “matured” amateurs :) I hold a masters in early music, along with a bachelors in classical composition. My dream is to live from composition mainly, writing music for concerts, film and ballet. Currently I’m working on a ballet commission from the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, and more original music for a series of concerts next summer in France. My favorite composers are Bartok... and a bunch of anonymous medieval ones. How about you?

Dear music lover, As an experienced and certified cellist / orchestra musician from Lisboa, Portugal, with several years of teaching, I accompany children, beginners, adults and advanced students into their musical dream and future. I adapt myself individually to the wishes and needs of my students. My focus is not only the technichs and motor skills of the instrumental playing, but always trying to convey musical relationships.
