I am a teacher and tutor of Italian Language for Foreigners with a Master's degree in teaching Italian as a language for foreigners from the Ca' Foscari University of Venezia and the DITALS certification (Certificate of aptitude in didactics of Italian to foreigners) of the University for Foreigners of Siena (Italy). The course and my method of teaching the language are based on a communicative approach: the student will learn the language gradually by using it and communicating in a real language and not abstract. As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them. In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

The course is aimed at a wide range of students with a general interest in Italian. No prior knowledge of Italian is required as the course is for complete beginners. Objectives of the course: To acquire basic language skills and to achieve the equivalent of A1 level. A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) are practiced, with the main emphasis on speaking. If you've decided to keep reading, it's probably because you're thinking about learning a new language, so the first thing I want to say is: CONGRATULATIONS! :) Learning something new is always a good idea! With that said, let me introduce myself. I have a degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation and a degree in International Relations. I have been teaching Italian as a foreign language for many years and in the past I have also been giving some Spanish classes, so I want to assure you that despite your level of Italian, we will not have communication problems and we will be able to use Spanish as an auxiliary language :) Throughout my professional career I have had experiences in different types of classes, both in Italy and Spain. Thanks to them I have learned how important it is to use varied teaching methods since each person learns in their own way. What works for you may not work for another person and that is why I have decided not to adopt a predefined methodology and to adapt my way of teaching to the needs, objectives and interests of the person(s) who participate in my classes. Hello everyone! I'm Giorgia and I come from Torino, Italy. I offer my native knowledge of Italian to any of you, who wants to discover this beautiful language. Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading.
