About Me

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 7 years old, and I was only treated with medication for a single year. During this time it was the only period in my primary or secondary education where I received perfect grades in all subjects. As I got older, my education started declining and I eventually dropped out of high school after 9th grade (S3 equivalent). I eventually learned how to work with my neurodiversity and mitigate its impact on my studies.

Despite dropping out of school, and spending over a year homeless as a teenager I have managed to get two MSc degrees from the University of Edinburgh.

I am a friendly teacher who enjoys sharing what I have learned over the years and encouraging others to keep striving for the best because nobody is unable to learn a subject as long as they have the correct, supportive environment. Even if someone has had a rough go at life, they can become a very successful student and move onto a career that they find rewarding. The same goes for anyone who just wants to learn more information because they are interested in learning more.

My goal is to ensure that anyone who is learning from me either sees an improvement in their studies because no amount of tuition should be wasted because of a person who is providing a low quality service.

Education

University of North Florida - Chemistry undergraduate studies while studying pre-medical.
Milwaukee School of Engineering - Studied Nursing.
Columbia College - Political Science, philosophy, political philosophy, international relations, and the politics of developing nations.
University of Edinburgh - MSc in Global Environment, Politics, and Society (self-taught critical discourse analysis for my dissertation).
University of Edinburgh - MSc in Global Health Policy (self-taught interpretive phenomenological analysis for lived experience research in homelessness, trauma, and substance use disorders with a focus on the NHS and psychedelic-assisted therapy treatments for trauma and substance use disorders).

Experience / Qualifications

US Navy - In-flight aircrew acoustics systems operator and oceanographer (gained qualification as a certified trainer for new members).
During both undergraduate and graduate school I acted as an informal tutor for the topics in my educational career.
Lived experience researcher and teacher of lived experience research methodologies with Homeless Network Scotland. I have provided consultation on multiple projects with my employer and on multiple Scottish government research projects.
