Flute Lessons for Everyone! (beginner to advanced)

Hi, I am Thore. I’m a German Bachelors degree flute student at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. During my studies here I could and still can gather a lot of knowledge about methodology and pedagogy and could already make a few teaching experiences. For me teaching means learning from each other. Thus the student of course gets insight to my knowledge about music and instrumental technique but I will also learn a lot from the student about the individual factors of flute playing and music making in general. In my lessons I focus a lot on breathing and posture because for me these two are the most influential factors to healthy and beautiful playing. I am also open to incorporating the students musical interests e.g. Disney- and Pop-songs. Lessons can be conducted in Dutch, English and German.

Hello! I’m Roser, a flutist and piccolist currently living in Groningen. I graduated from my bachelor on 2023 in Conservatori Superior de Música “Mestre Tàrrega” in Castelló, Spain. In 2023 I moved to Groningen to start my master studies at Prince Claus Conservatorium. During my bachelor in Spain I worked as a flute and music theory teacher in three elementary music schools and I have complemented my experience with courses in pedagogical strategies. The lessons will be fully adapted to each student and their musical interests or goals. For me it is very important that you can learn all the technical aspects of the flute but also that you can enjoy and express yourself playing the music you like the most.

I am a second year Master student at the jazz department of the Prins Claus conservatoire. I am a bass player and a composer, who performed in over 10 countries with different projects as a leader and a sideman. Bass lessons include: -bass technique -multiple genres (pop, rock, jazz, funk, soul, hip hop,...) - music theory - composition -improvisation -arranging -studio recording I am open to any needs and wishes of a student and I would make a personal schedule for each student, depending on their needs and goals.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

For beginners wanting to delve into music theory to amateurs preparing for exams, this class will be suitable whatever standard you are. Through the forms of visual, practice and reading, you can learn the very basics of music theory and build upon your knowledge. This class can guide students currently preparing for ABRSM Grade 5 or 8 and will prepare you to take the exam. This class will cover the basics of reading and understanding sheet music, scales, modes, key signatures, learning intervals, chord symbols, progressions and many more!

As a self taught guitar player, I believe guitar is best learnt through songs you love, rather than from a book. I can take you through efficient paths to achieve your goals through my 8 years of trial and error learning guitar. I have been teaching for a year now and can also coach on high quality song writing and production as a bedroom guitarist!

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. Even though music is universal, specific terms and method learning differ from one culture and another one. This is why I propose some individual courses of music and piano for people curions about discovering or maybe improving their artistic skills in the language of Moliere. At the beginning of the lesson, the student will be trained by some theory, not the best part for most people. But with the help of mnemotechnic methods, those basics won't have a secret for him/her anymore ;) Then, I will adapt the pratical part depending on the student's level...and will of course ;) He/She can bring the music piece he would like to play.
