The course offers a possibility of help for students having difficulties in the courses offered. During a mathematics or scientific branch course, the student has specific questions or subjects to address (ranging from compulsory school to the end of the gymnasium in maturity/reinforced math) in order to fill in the gaps in the subject . Salvation! My name is André and I have just finished my Doctorate in Physics at EPFL. I offer support courses in Mathematics and Sciences for primary school students. My methods are characterized by personalized support for each student, while considering their objectives. As a Master of Data Science student at EPFL, mathematics is an important part of my academic curriculum. During my studies, I had the opportunity to act as a student assistant at EPFL in various courses in the Computer Science section. These experiences allowed me to develop a teaching spirit. I really enjoy passing on my knowledge and helping students develop their reasoning skills. My goal is to make people love mathematics, offer an intuitive understanding of the topics covered in order to guide students towards better results and greater autonomy.

I quickly noticed that the problem often comes from understanding the exercises given rather than the course itself, so here's how I like to proceed: I always start by first making sure that the principle of the course is understood by focusing on the points that block, and then we can start looking at the exercises, given by the teacher, that pose a problem. The goal is that at the end of the rehearsal course, the student has in his hands cards with the different methods used to solve all the possible types of exercises, especially those requested in the exam. I myself take care of preparing these sheets during the rehearsal course in order to summarize all the methods acquired.

I love teaching and have always enthusiastically helped my classmates. I have been giving private lessons since 2016 (around 25 students, including one for Analysis I, EPFL). I am also an assistant for two courses at EPFL (3rd year Bachelor and Master levels), and I co-created and taught the EPFL Advanced Analysis course during the welcome week for new students (Students4Students EPFL). I strive to transmit my knowledge and my passion for the subject to my students, at a pace adapted to their needs.
