About Me
I am a mixed media textile artist and craft maker. For the past year I have been working as a freelance scenic painter, costume maker, and in various art fabrication workshops. I am the founder of Studio SLO a furniture restoration company and have my own online shop selling printed jewellery, clothing and artwork I have made. I have a background in printmaking and have previous experience facilitating printmaking workshops at Design Me Print textiles. I have un up to date DBS check and was a private art tutor for two years.I have some experience teaching art lessons virtually, starting this at the start of lockdown to raise money for the NHS.
My practice focuses on how one can fuse waste materials within traditional art and textiles techniques. Which is how I came to developing my own hybrid printing and joining method involving aluminium cans and plastic packaging. The printmaking workshops I will teach all have roots of traditional techniques with adaptions I have made so they are suitable for those without the correct equipment.

In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.
You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.

I prefer to tailor class towards what you’re interested in and help you gain the skills that will get you towards what you want to do art wise. Whether that is landscapes, portraits, painting in oils, acrylics, or watercolours, or drawing what you see, or drawing what you imagine. I look forward to helping you gain the skills you’ll need!
Paul
Drawing with Paul. Learn the fundamentals of drawing so that you create the art you dream of.Michelangelo say that you don't draw with your hand, but with your head, and that is true. Drawing is the most versatile skill you can learn, and the basis for infinite routs to express yourself. From drawings we have mapped and planned human civilisation as we know it. It is the original written language, and it is so much a part of who we are that even the youngest of us know what it is to create meaningful marks on a piece of paper. Drawing has inspired my life and I hope that I can share the things I've learned with you to help you on your path. There is nothing more frustrating then getting stuck as an artist, or looking at the great work of people that came before you and wondering how will I ever get there? It is a journey that lasts a lifetime, but it doesn't need to happen alone.
There are ways to grow your skills, that those amazing artists did, and have been passed down. Ways to break down what you are doing on the page to truly create the illusion of depth, so that it feels real. I can give you the building blocks to understand how to create realism. I will also help you build on our own natural creativity, and hopefully keep you from some of the growing pains I had to go through in the pursuit of my craft.
