MATHS lessons for IB, pre IB, MYP, IGCSE, and GCSE students

I have worked for 6 years now with kids from international schools who were "hating" maths because the methods used by their IB teachers were too complicated and hard to understand.

I believe that no one is "not mathematical", we just have to find the way to approach the subject together; I have indeed a few teaching methods that can be adapted to a kids' needs, I believe every kid needs a different method to fully understand the subject.

I provide 3 types of lessons that represent 3 phases:
1. THEORY - Understanding the theory behind the exercises, this phase is the shortest since I believe that to fully understand maths you need to exercise.
2. EXERCISES - Doing exercises divided by subject we. just went through in the theory part.
3. PAST PAPERS - Going through past papers to "simulate" a potential exam.

Dividing the process in 3 phases has proven really effective in succeeding not only during the year but also at the final exams.

About Me

I am a fourth year medical student.
I have worked as a tutor in several subjects for almost 6 years now. I love seeing how a student that initially hates a subject, starts to appreciate it after I explain it to him with a method suited for him.
In fact, I don't believe that there are people that are more "mathematical" or intelligent than others, I believe they just haven't found the right method yet.
I also prepared lots of students for university admission tests (including ACT and SAT) and language certification tests, and loved seeing their confidence grow after just a few sessions.
I am looking forward to change your mind on studying maths and/or other science subjects!

Education

I have 3 high schools diploma: I graduated with honours and 4 advanced placement courses (AP) in Calculus, Macroeconomics, French and Italian ( in which I got 5,4,5,5)in Los Angeles, and I have graduated in Italy with a French and Italian scientific high school diploma.
I have attended Bocconi University in Milan (Bachelor in international economics and management) for a year, but I am currently studying medicine and surgery since I found out I am in love with science subjects other than maths.

Experience / Qualifications

5 years tutoring IB students in maths and sciences
4 years tutoring university students in maths, macroeconomics, microeconomics and biology
6 years tutoring high school students in French, Italian, English and sciences

Very reliable, she is extremely efficient and go straight to the point in understanding the student' s needs
One of the best Teachers. She teach my daughter grade 12 mathematics for IP. She believe that maybe the best person can teach mathematics. We strongly recommend her.
My son enjoyed his class with her. She was very helpful.
Very satisfied.
Great class, im happy
...
I have worked for 5 years now with high school kids interested in studying medicine in Italy (both in italian or English) I believe that the key for a successful preparation of a challenging test such as the medicine entrance exam is exercise, in fact I believe that is crucial to start the preparation with an adequate advance to gain confidence with the standard exercises we can find in the exam. My lessons are based on mock exams: we go through them together seeing what are the student's gaps and then reviewing the theory of those gaps. I also believe that my method I successful since I can relate to the fear and anxiety a student preparing such a stressful exam is living, having prepared it not so long ago. Every lesson we go through a subject so we can focus on the hardest topics in every subject.

Student at Ens Paris-Saclay offers private lessons in maths - physics any level
Hello, I am a student of ENS Paris-Saclay in M2 at the Observatoire de Paris. I have already given in Paris courses in physics and maths second / first level as well as maths pre-eco level first year. I approach the subject freely and I adapt to the student, I draw the examples in my personal experience. I always prefer that the basics be understood before trying more in-depth exercises, I differentiate complex and difficult.

Need help ? Homework help, support or daily homework
Hello, My name is Zoë, I am 18 years old and I am currently studying political science at La Sorbonne. I had my literary baccalaureate with very good honors with mathematics, plastic arts, art history and European English honors. I am aware that homework is not always an easy task at home, which is why I offer my help (once or twice or per week, see more if necessary) to review what has not been understood, the basics or just do the homework. I have already given lessons, especially during my au pair experience in Spain or at the high school where I was studying ... I am rather available with my schedule so do not hesitate to contact me for more information. Beautiful day

Learn Mathematics Elementary and Middle School
I propose to give French lessons for beginners and intermediates. I can also do tutoring in any subject (English, Spanish, History, Geography, etc.) except physics, mathematics and the svt from the first S. I usually teach classes to students under 15 years old. I like being able to do lessons of at least 1h30 to have the time to tackle several topics and in depth. I like to play games, they are not masterful but in total interaction. The most important thing for me is to repeat, rephrase and practice very quickly after the lesson and out of the class. It is also important to have a notebook and the materials needed for the subjects studied (eg Bescherelle or dictionaries). I am a student in L3 double degree Science Po-History in Paris. I did a BL preparatory class for two years before. And I come from a terminal European ES (English). I graduated from the Cervantes B2 level in 2015.

Learn to count with the Abacus, Soroban, Japanese abacus method - Mental Calculation
The Abacus method is divided into two steps: + We first learn to count using the Abacus (abacus). We become familiar with the balls and the different operations they allow us to carry out. Through sessions with the abacus, mental arithmetic becomes faster and faster. It turns out to be a game and no longer a chore. + When calculation with the abacus is mastered, you can carry out operations without the abacus, only with your fingers and your head, in just a few seconds! This stage involves mental visualization and motor representation of numbers. The gestures necessary for handling the abacus actually help to better remember the numbers. In addition to quick and easy learning of mental arithmetic, the Abacus method has other advantages: • Photographic and auditory memory • Concentration and attention • Imagination and creativity • Logical and analytical thinking • Multitasking capabilities • Self-confidence and self-discipline

Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacher
I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Math tutoring for high school students
As a teaching professional, I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge. My goal is to provide quality education. I am aware that some topics may seem complex, but often this is simply the result of an inadequate explanation by the teacher. With me, you will discover a real interest in the material! We strive together to achieve academic excellence, overcoming the shortcomings and difficulties encountered by your child. Studies will become a pleasant experience for him. In addition to the courses, I can also help with school orientation, identifying their preferences and highlighting the advantages and benefits of a fulfilling educational ambition. The sessions generally take place according to the following stages: 1️⃣ The first sessions are devoted to the assessment of the student's level in order to detect existing gaps. 2️⃣ Next, we create a personalized plan to address these gaps, including the number of hours of work needed, specific areas to focus on, and appropriate training and development exercises. 3️⃣ We stay in constant contact with the student's class teacher, to keep up to date with the latest requirements and ensure a consistent approach. 4️⃣ Subsequently, I provide exams similar to those that are likely to be asked in class, to prepare the student effectively. 5️⃣ Upon request, I write a regular report, usually monthly, to keep parents informed of their child's progress throughout their course. I adapt my methodology according to the specific needs of each student, thus offering them a personalized and adapted work approach. In addition, I offer crash courses for students preparing for the start of the school year, allowing them to start the year well prepared, with a solid lead on the school curriculum. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you.
