Math coaching - Mathematics for success, a method for growing 🚀

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
🎯Why coaching?

For several years, I have been supporting students towards academic success through private mathematics lessons. These lessons are mainly focused on mastering technical concepts to meet the urgency of a school deadline (such as an exam or assessment). While these lessons are effective in the short term, they leave little room for the development of transversal skills such as autonomy, methodology or self-confidence. My coaching offer complements these lessons by proposing an approach that goes well beyond the acquisition of technical skills. By working on the long term, students consolidate their foundations while developing essential tools for lasting success, at school and elsewhere. The result? Less stress, more efficiency and serenity, not only at school but also in everyday life.

👬Why a group?
By working in groups of 4 to 5 students, each participant benefits from individualized attention, while benefiting from the dynamics of a collaborative and stimulating group. This format encourages autonomy, mutual assistance, and active engagement in learning.

🙋How is it going?
1. First, we meet at your home or mine for a 1.5-hour individual session. This session is an opportunity to determine the objectives of your coaching and to get to know each other. You can then decide to commit to group coaching sessions.
2. You join the group on Wednesday afternoons. The sessions begin with a group time to work on global skills. Then, you will have time to work on mathematics independently, having the opportunity to call on my help or the help of your classmates when necessary.

📆When and where?
Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Collège Saint Pierre d'Uccle. First session on 02/19.

I am very happy to share my impressions of my first math lesson with Sylvain: The professor was able to present the concepts in a clear and engaging manner, making the topics covered accessible and interesting. I particularly appreciated the way in which real-life examples were used to illustrate the theoretical concepts. This helped me to better understand the basic concepts. I still have to prepare for my internship which will start next week, I will most certainly contact Sylvain after confirming my schedule with my employer. Thanks to Sylvain for this great first experience!

Having obtained my Engineering degree in June 2018 and currently working as a Software Engineer in an IT company, I want to share my knowledge acquired during my studies with people of all ages in the Brussels region. My goal is to help my students approach the subject from a different angle so that they feel more comfortable and confident. I adapt my lessons to everyone by combining theory, exercises and practical examples. This period is ideal for getting back up to speed and possibly adopting a new working methodology in order to best approach the new school year. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
Technology is an integral part of our daily lives, but sometimes it can be difficult to master and understand it. I offer my help to discover basic IT tools: how to use them optimally and how they can benefit you.

Physics & Maths Lessons! - Experience with Belgian and EU Baccalaureate, IB, CCVX, University Applications & Learning Disabilities
Hi, My name is Jeremy and I have a Master's in Physics with honors from the University of Leicester (which was featured as a top 5 Physics university in the UK by The Guardian) and a - french - European School diploma in which I achieved 90% in Physics and 85% in Maths. Helping others understand difficult topics and skills is something that I am very passionate about as an empathetic person. I have experience teaching Physics and Maths to kids from unprivileged backgrounds at the homework school in Saint-Gilles (CASG du Service Social Juif asbl) as well as 4 years of private teaching. In my classes, I aim to: - help students achieve better grades in exams/tests in all branches of Physics & Maths - clearly explain and break down topics - give context and or example applications of topics (to improve understanding and memorization) - help with ADHD & other learning disabilities - give practical advice for university applications (eg. UCAS in the UK) and discuss the exciting Physics research/work and projects you can work on later in life Physics has a plethora of useful and fascinating applications, from the detection of Gravitational Waves and Gamma-Ray Bursts to the development of novel Medical Imaging techniques and Nano-technology (eg: smartphones). It is a subject that I am very passionate about and I hope to make use of my years of experience and extensive knowledge to help you understand and love the subject! My lessons will always be tailored to the individual needs of the student, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions!

Science and Mathematics, from primary to (pre)university level
The course (and this for the different subjects) will be mainly based on the material seen at school but accompanied by more explanations if necessary. This arouses curiosity and trains the brain to have a concrete logic of reflection.

Mathematics and Science for Secondary Education
Mathematics and science subjects can weigh heavily on your study career during secondary education. It is therefore important to perform well on this. This can be a challenge for many students, especially in the third grade. In my lesson I try to explain the subject matter to students based on their own course, my old course and extra exercises. The ultimate goal is that the students gain a better understanding of their course.

School support / Private lessons Primary: French - Maths - Human Sciences: CEB preparation
Many students need personalized help to make progress in certain subjects. I have the knowledge as well as the teaching skills to enable your child to progress and even, yes it is possible, to enjoy learning. I already help children with homework so I have good experience in academic support. I know how to talk to young people, I am very patient and I have a real desire to help your children progress. Naturally caring and empathetic, I try to always remain positive and give the child confidence in his abilities. I adapt to the needs of each student and offer personalized support to monitor the work carried out and check that the results agree with the educational objectives set at the start of the support work.

Julien
Lower and upper secondary mathematics and physics.
I like to explain mathematics both to students who have more difficulty conceptualizing its fundamental notions as well as to those who understand them more easily. I strive to present mathematics in an intelligent and understandable way. Indeed, the clarity of explanations is one of the most important aspects to consider when teaching mathematics. Also, I am aware of the stress that students sometimes feel and therefore I make it a point that students do not feel any stress from a math class but rather that they work to their best of their abilities in a relaxed and pleasant setting.

Online or in person Maths tuition. Experienced, personable and patient English speaker tutor.
Hi, I’m Ross, an analyst and policy advisor for the UK civil service, currently on a yearlong career break. I’ve been a maths tutor on and off since I was a university student. I’m offering virtual tuition and I’m very flexible with which days for the week and time of day. French high school: mathematics (private lessons for all levels)
Hello, after two years of preparation for Henri-IV, I joined CentraleSupélec (Paris), where I touched on quantum physics as well as fundamental math, before realizing that I also liked to transmit this knowledge. In my classes, the objective is to understand in order to succeed. Often math loses us because it seems too abstract. To move forward, I help you make it all visual and clear, using images, analogies and tips. I will also help you identify the key notions for high school, the definitions to know absolutely, the real utility hidden behind a property. We will work on the classic methods, the writing that works, the reflexes to get by in front of an exercise. You'll see, high school math is like knowing cooking recipes.

Mathematics courses for primary and secondary students
My course is aimed at people who have difficulty in the following subjects: - Mathematics - Physics I try through my course not to solve your homework so that you have good grades but above all to teach you good logic, the spirit of synthesis that must be developed in order to be able to be independent afterwards.
