I chose a master's in 'Rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy specialization musculoskeletal disorders'. During my bachelor years, I developed a very good basic knowledge of science subjects and mathematics: I studied statistics for 3 years, molecular cell biology, chemistry, physics, biomechanics, biochemistry and anatomy. The quality of teaching of both the University of Leuven as the high school I went to (Heilig Hartcollege Tervuren) is something I am very happy/thankful for. I would love to share the education and the knowledge I acquired by supporting and teaching you or your child/teen. I would consider it as a sort of study pathway counseling. As I already have a bachelor's degree in one of the highest-ranked universities in Europe, I have a broad knowledge of quite some subjects. ABOUT THIS LESSON: I offer tutoring in Python programming and mathematics for university and college students. I also support secondary school and primary school students in all scientific subjects. I start by (if available) using your old tests to determine together with you (and possibly your parents) what specific difficulties you have. In addition, we will have a short conversation in which you can explain to me which issues you have experienced as the most difficult and would like to focus more on. My focus is on ensuring that the student is able to find the solution independently, step by step, and I help where necessary by providing mini-tips to get to the next step together. This makes my method much more personalized than standard classroom teaching. When I notice that a student has difficulty independently coming up with the correct editing steps, I create a concise step-by-step plan tailored to that specific subject so that the student begins to see more structure in the learning material. Goal: My goal for every lesson is for you to gain as much insight into the topic as possible. This way, in contrast to mindlessly learning everything by heart, you can remember things way more easily and apply them to any problem/exercise you encounter. Approach: When you ask me a question, my first goal is to try and understand exactly what it is about the topic that you don't understand. Then, instead of simply answering your question, I will ask you an easier version of the question back. In this fashion, I can help you to answer your own questions through helping you find the right path in your reasoning. Additionally, I try to approach the topic from different angles, with lots of real life examples. This way you also get an idea of the use of what you are learning, to give it a sense of purpose. My experience: As an active Civil Engineer, not only do I have profound knowledge of mathematics and physics, but I also have a good understanding of their use in practice. This can be a big advantage for students who don't understand why they need to be learning "all of this crap". Additionally, I have been giving courses regularly since starting university, and have years of experience teaching badminton to youth players once a week. I sincerely hope I can put all of this experience to good use in providing you with some fun and very educational tutoring!
