Trusted teacher: Qualified native English teacher in Cambridge. Personalised teaching method to ensure progress. Tailored practice and further development * speak with confidence * improve your writing * read confidently * improve your listening skills Grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation training, and accent reduction. Make yourself understood with confidence: Pronunciation, elocution, accuracy, vocabulary development, grammar. Writing accurately: Planning, organisation, development. Listening: Grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. Bespoke lesson-plans, whether for business purposes or for more fluent speaking practice. I have experience teaching every level and currently teach adults face to face in Cambridge. I quickly identify problem areas and work on them using a method that works well with each student-whether on the business premises or in the student's home. Together, we practise pronunciation techniques; fluency; increasing vocabulary; writing; and many more skills - using methods including speaking and listening. Over the years, I have worked with international students, corporate clients, scientists, business entrepreneurs, and translators to enhance their communication skills regarding clarity, intelligibility, confidence, accuracy, and vocabulary range. I encourage the student to speak as much as possible by using a variety of techniques to provide material to talk about, using everyday vocabulary. Student's comment-Alejandro: "I am really happy with my progress and the way Emma makes every lesson interesting." More specialist vocabulary is explained for work purposes. I am extremely patient and have experience teaching learners from all over the world and therefore understand particular pronunciation difficulties. I provide a lot of help with common problems encountered, using, for example: tenses, phrasal verbs, and word order in sentences. Student's comment-Izabela: "She helped me find some weaknesses right away in my first lesson and she was immensely helpful in explaining everything in detail during our sessions and in the written feedback." I am a native English speaker with a clear voice and am qualified through Trinity College London in TESOL. I also have an NVQ III in Business and Administration. Contacts are available for nearby, friendly, professional host families at reasonable prices. Student's comment-Linde: "What’s even better is that she takes my incorrect sentences as examples as well, which makes it easier to apply the grammar to my everyday life."

Daniel - Cambridge$75
Trusted teacher: Approach to Teaching – I favour a structured approach. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs. – Violin lessons tend to be carefully planned to focus on specific technical aspects of performance. To train musicality, I often teach this through the use of Kreutzer and Fiorillo etudes, Dont studies, and also pieces of repertoire catered to the student's musical interests and technical requirements. – I am open to considering student repertoire suggestions if they are particularly passionate about a certain piece. Lesson Structure – Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters for a student's requirements. Credentials – I am a Musicology PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge. – I have worked as a private violin teacher for 7 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills. – I have performed at West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), The Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), Buxton International Festival, Manchester International Festival, and The Bridgewater Hall. – I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films; recent highlights include the docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021). Performance Credits: Soundtrack: House of Maxwell (BBC2) (2022) *Score nominated for BAFTA award Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021) The Schnoz (Premiered at the Jewish Film Festival 2020) The Chillenden Murders (BBC2) (2017) The Five Wives & Lives Of Melvyn Pfferberg (2016) Conviction: Murder At the Station (BBC2) (2016) Charlie Hebdo: 3 Days That Shook Paris (Channel 4) (2015) Being AP (BBC + Toronto Film Festival) (2015) The Battle for Marjah (HBO) (2012) Popular Music Releases: Grasscut – Human Estuary / The Garden / Witley Common (2021) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – Coprolite Tip / Courage Traveller / Edges Of Night (2021) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – September's Night Sky (2015) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – Beacon (2014) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – Pieces (2012) (Ninja Tune) Essa Weira – Glimpse (2020) Jaga Jazzist – Toccata (Grasscut remix) (2010) (Ninja Tune xx Vol. 2) (Ninja Tune) – I hold an MPhil(Cantab) in Music from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Historical Musicology and Aesthetics. – I led the University of Cambridge Experimental Music Ensemble (CUEME) during my MPhil year – I have a first-class music degree (74.4%) from the University of Manchester, where I won three Hargreaves Prizes for Academic Achievement. – I achieved a distinction (92%) in my ATCL Diploma in violin performance, and a First (78%) in my final violin recital for my undergraduate degree. – I have worked as an Assistant Music Teacher, which involved teaching to A-Level Music students. Distinguished ensembles and performers who have performed my works include the DoelenKwartet, HERMESensemble, Syzygy Quartet, Ossian Ensemble, Noszferatu, Decibel, David Le Page, Patrick Johnson, Sara Minelli, Rowland Sutherland, and Colin Alexander. My compositions have been featured at world-famous festivals including the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam and TROMP Percussion Festival and at venues such as Kings Place and Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, as well as various venues throughout Europe, North America, and South Africa. In addition to classical composition, I also write advert soundtracks on a regular basis for clients such as GHD, Lanvin, Japanese Vogue, Mariana Jungman (London Fashion Week), Cent Magazine, and Face Lace. I have completed a number of scores for award-winning short films 'Wanted' by Graeme Montgomery, and 'Genesis' by Beatrix Haxby. I was a member of Essex Youth Orchestra for four years, and have written a new repertoire for the instrument including a number of Concert Studies and also a Bassoon Quartet. I studied with international artists including Kasey Riot and Noah Priddle at the London Sound Academy and have performed in venues such as SET, Dalston alongside artists including Chiminyo and D’vo. Tutoring Experience: From 2009-2011 I taught Drumkit to students aged between 10-15 at a local Rock & Pop School. I've also been involved in a number of music courses for children between 2009-2014 as a Supervisor / Sound Technician. In 2016 I began giving private lessons and built up a group of over 20 pupils ranging from 5-year-olds to adults through positive word-of-mouth. Between April-July 2017, I was contacted by a local primary school to give small group lessons in Piano and Guitar. Alongside my studies in Amsterdam, I continued to teach a similarly wide age range of pupils. Since 2019 I have taught Composition & Musicianship at the Saffron Walden Centre for Young Musicians. I have an Enhanced DBS check, available upon request. Tutoring Approach: My philosophy in Music Tuition is to improve the student's technique through exercises and pieces which they enjoy. I also provide general music education as I believe in a holistic approach, and increasing their passion for music which will increase their motivation for practice and improvement.

Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Arina and I am a native Russian speaker. I've been teaching Russian since 2011. Teaching my native language is not only my passion, but also a constant subject of my curiosity. I explore Russian every day with my students, we help each other understand its history, origins and cultural peculiarities. My other passion is Fine Arts and it blends together with languages very well! I like incorporating creative techniques into my teaching methodology; it makes the lessons fun and information easy to understand and memorise. I have flexible working hours but prefer a responsible learner who can arrange lessons in advance. It is preferable to meet for a lesson every week, as it helps to make a steady progress. Our main goal is to achieve strong and long-lasting results in a minimal period of time. The structure of my lesson is well balanced. I include grammar and pronunciation techniques, also tips for better and quicker memorisation. I gather information for lessons from different sources, which makes my class interactive, vibrant and effective. I use audio-visual aids and have an extensive database of audios, videos, movies and presentations to help you succeed. I've travelled to Australia, US, China, Indonesia, Europe and New Zealand and have a good understanding of different cultures. It enables me to explain the Russian culture and immerse you into our traditions. It helps to learn the language when you are familiar with the particularities of a Russian way of thinking.

I teach one to one singing lessons in person and online. Lessons are packed with all kinds of information: breathing technique and vocal warm-ups,, exploring a range of song repertoire, musicianship skills, confidence building, audition and exam preparation (for those who want to!) and most importantly, finding a real enjoyment of singing - all in a friendly and professional environment. I have run a successful singing teaching practice for adults and children in Cambridge since 2006, working with a wide variety of people and teaching a range of musical and vocal styles. I teach in person and online. I have an enhanced DBS certificate, public liability insurance and am a member of AOTOS (Association of Singing Teachers) and the Musicians' Union. I also have the NSPCC/Musicians Union 'Keeping Children Safe in Music' Child Protection certification. I have considerable experience in music education and community music both as a singing teacher and a vocal animateur. I have worked with people of all ages and abilities in both a workshop and one to one setting and have run projects, course and classes for music hubs, orchestras, disability and mental health organisations. I have led community singing projects for the Royal Opera, Opera North and English Touring Opera and international projects in Belize and India as well as leading a range of workshops from 'Find Your Voice' sessions to performance workshops in UK universities. As part of mid career CPD, I recently completed a two year course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, as part of continuing my professional development - a Post-Graduate Certificate in Performance Teaching (Higher Education elective) and was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. In Cambridge, I teach singing at The Perse School (Upper) and at St Catharine's College & Churchill College, University of Cambridge. I also run young choirs at the Centre for Young Musicians in Peterborough (PCYM), a division of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Eva
There’s no overstating how important a role a teacher can play in one’s life. With the amount of time they spend with us, watching us grow into better professionals, the academic evolution and the foremost into more responsible human beings. I can affirm categorically that Eva seems to be a great teacher, and I am very optimistic to the journey we will start together. Yesterday when I had a meeting with her I felt like she is a lady who cheer up the students and help them according to their needs. And most import she teach life lessons of confidence. Teachers and professors who taught life lessons are far greater than teaching standard based content. I am very happy I found this lady. She is also very inspiring and have an impressive positive and lovely personality. And who is just like me seeking for help, I will definitely recommend her. Thank you Eva ❤️ Giovanna.

Daniel
My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!

Emma
I had booked Emma to help to improve my children’s English. We had 3 hours of English lessons for 4 days in a row for our three children (10/12/14 years old) and participate ourselves. Emma made it fun for them to learn and took individual care of the different need. Our children and also Mum & Dad enjoyed a lot. We can highly recommend Emma‘s teaching skill and especially her ability to adjust to the individual needs! Thank you Emma!
