Having lived in several different countries I know how challenging it can be to learn a new language and to put it into practice. Especially Dutch, with it's unusual pronunciations and structures. During our lessons I will explain how to deal with such issues and show you that Dutch is actually quite a structured language and a lot less complicated that often suggested. I am a positive and optimistic person and this is also how I teach. I focus on how to do things right rather than wasting energy on why things are wrong. This creates a nice learning atmosphere and it also makes the course much more productive. I like to have an open communication with my students and encourage them to let me know what their difficulties are and what they want to improve. When learning a language it is very important that you can quickly put into practice what you have learned. This naturally motivates you to learn more. For that reason I find it important that it is clear from the beginning what the language needs and wishes of my students are so we can work towards your goals in an effective way and make sure you are able to apply what you have learned as soon as possible. The reason why I like teaching so much is because I enjoy showing people what they are capable of and to help them develop their skills. Another reason is that it allowes me to open the door for you to a great language and culture!

As non-Dutch speaking parents, it is certainly not easy to teach your children Dutch or help them become more fluent in the new language. Who wants some extra exercise for their kids? I would like to help you with that. As their vocabulary expands and their sentences become more fluent, your children will become more confident. In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

A qualified language coach with 24 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online. I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam. Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach. In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level). We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level. This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end. Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1 As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities. I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar. Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 24 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles. I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.
