I have been a Piano teacher for over 25 years. This is something I am very passionate about and truly enjoy. My goal is to combine the students' interests with a program that I as a teacher find necessary to improve and develop technique and skills. I have also taught Piano to my kids, so I understand how important it is that Piano lessons are interesting and exciting. I studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. For many years I had my own music theater studio. I have a Hoffmann Grand Piano and prefer to give lessons at my home. However, I am flexible and can come to your house too.

I give piano lessons for intermediate and advanced students from 15 years and up. I studied classical piano at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and finished my master's degree in 2010. Over the years, I have won several first prizes at competitions, and I can teach classical music and pop and music theory. I also can prepare for conservatory entrance exams or advanced prep for competitions.

I am teaching composition, piano, theory/harmony, & ear-training. I graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as a contemporary composer. I am very open to the stylistic choices of the students and adapt the lesson to fit their particular needs or interests. When it comes to composition, I'm coaching anyone who needs advice as to how to write their own music, how to develop their compositional tools, song-writing skills, how to translate conceptual ideas into practical material. This also applies to children, who might want to get the basics of making their own song, either on an instrument or on the computer. My approach to teaching piano is highly influenced by my composition studies, both in stylistic diversity and in pedagogical methods. I find it important to teach piano in an overall way, one that incorporates ear-training but also theory together with playing. This way i find that the lesson becomes much more stimulating, and it also becomes much more easy to learn. I have experience teaching adults but also young kids between 4-15 years old. I believe it is never late to start learning music and that learning to make music is firstly a fun and then a challenging adventure.

As an experienced composer, producer and sound designer I specialize in applying my broad knowledge and experience in the field of music & technology. Most successful electronic musicians combine different skills, such as working with music production software and hardware, playing a keyboard, recording and mixing, but also music theory and composition techniques. Because as an electronic musician you often have to deal with different instruments & other sound sources, my lessons are also very suitable if you want to learn to design your own sounds, not only to make music, but also as sound effects for videos or games, for example. Just like in my own professional practice, I teach the different aspects of electronic music production: - sound design ('sound design'), both analogue and digital - synthesis - composition techniques - software for music production, so-called 'DAWs' such as Ableton Live - hardware, such as modular synthesizers and effect units - production: recording and mixing of audio - performance of electronic music It is also possible to learn more about (Western and non-Western) music theory and the history of (electronic) music. From my background as a sound designer for games & film, much of me can share knowledge and experience in this. In principle, my lessons are always adapted to the individual needs, knowledge and skills of the student. For the youngest, my approach is to introduce them to music and technology in a playful way. I bring 8 years of teaching experience to aspiring musicians of all ages. In our sessions, we'll embark on a comprehensive journey, honing in on essential aspects such as breathing techniques, instrument flexibility, and the art of improvisation. Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate player, we'll craft a personalized approach to elevate your skills, fostering not just technical proficiency but a deep love for the trumpet and the joy of musical expression.

During my singing lessons we’ll focus on your vocal technique to increase your vocal range, build vocal strength and stamina, improve your breathing and gain control over your instrument . We’ll work on multiple musical and vocal styles, sing high and low notes with ease, and most importantly, we’ll focus on finding your own voice while having fun doing it. All you need for these lessons is passion for singing and a song of your choice. During the first lesson we’ll discuss your goals and wishes and have a little try at a few vocal exercises. Next, we’ll work on the song of your choice with the focus on the things you’d like to improve. After the lesson you’ll receive a little summary of your strengths, focus points and a plan with how we’ll work to achieve your goals. There will always be a small homework or exercise you’ll need to work on at home to help you achieve what we planned. All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced!

My name is Ben (26), and I'm a certified drum teacher with about 15 years of experience behind the kit. Previously I have studied jazz drums at Kunstuniversitat of Graz. Currently I'm teaching at multiple institutions in Amsterdam such as: Lucky Beat Music Club, United Pop, British School of Amsterdam. Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
