Engineering Ethics, Leadership & Professionalism (Concepts and Cases)
Engineering Profession and Ethics is a complete study course on the role of ethics in engineering in their historical, philosophical and professional contexts. The course examines the impact of ethical theories and their application to issues encountered in the engineering profession, such as employee rights, whistleblowing, safety, risk and liability, professional responsibility to consumers and employers, conflicts of interest, codes of ethics, legal obligations, environmental and social responsibility. Through the use of real and hypothetical case studies, the course focuses on developing analysis techniques and applying them to ethical problems through independent critical thinking and moral sensitivity.

About Me
I graduated from the American University of Beirut in 2016 with a Masters in Civil Engineering (Construction Management), and I completed my PhD requirements in Construction Engineering and Management by February 2022. I trust that my teaching experience, partnered with my research in the field make me a strong candidate for tutoring students. It is worth mentioning that I am an ambitious, enthusiastic, and conscientious individual who works hard and pays attention to detail. My communication skills are notable, and I am flexible, quick at picking up new skills, and eager to learn from others.

Experience / Qualifications
Year 2010 was my first year of my undergraduate studies at the American University of Beirut (AUB) as a civil engineering student. It was when I started tutoring students in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry courses. After completing my Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (2014), I did a lot of private tutoring to students in different civil engineering courses (mainly structural engineering). Then I decided to continue my graduate studies and earn my Masters in civil engineering (Also at AUB), where I had research and teaching assistant duties. In 2016, I enrolled in the Ph.D. construction management program at AUB. During my residency period, I was a lecturer assistant helping my supervisor, and also I was a part-time instructor at Phenicia University and the Lebanese International University. In February 2022, I completed my Ph.D. degree and currently I am the coordinator of the Civil Engineering department at Phenicia University. The course exposes the student to the various phases of the construction process from its
inception to its successful completion and operation. Specifically, the course covers the
following topics: Project feasibility study, project organizational structures, contracting pricing
schemes, cost estimating, contracts and specifications, project scheduling, construction
productivity, cost control, quality control, risk assessment, and construction safety.
The course exposes students to basic concepts and methodology used for planning and scheduling construction projects. This includes CPM-related techniques such as activity on arrow method, precedence diagrams computations, resource allocation and leveling, lean design in construction scheduling, concurrent delays, etc. in addition to Program Evaluation Review Techniques (PERT), and linear scheduling.
The course covers the principles of force and moment vectors, the distribution of loads, the use of free-body diagrams and the internal forces, with applications to shear and moment diagrams under different loading conditions. It also covers the mechanical behavior (stress-strain relationships) of different materials under tension, compression, torsion, bending, and shear stress. Mohr’s circle, transformation equations, and Hooke’s law are discussed.`
This course covers the fundamentals of Engineering Economics for engineering professionals to match engineering practice today. It recognizes the role of the engineer as a decision maker who has to make and defend sensible decisions. It emphasizes on the analytical consideration of money and its impact on decision making as well as on other factors such as environmental and social factors and tasks. By the end of the course students will be equipped with basic analytical skills for solving problems of an economic nature real-world example.
