Drums, as with bass guitar are the backbone of any good song, and the foundation upon which the music is built. Despite not being as famous as lead vocals or lead guitar. Drums in my opinion is much more fun, at all levels of performance. I will teach you how to play the drums, how to fit the style to the genre and we will learn by practice by breaking down the famous classics, and explain what part drums played to make these classics so good. We will use my electronic drumset, which is not as good as the real thing but is definitely good for starters. There are ways you can practice at home without a drumset as well. And we can expand later and rent a studio room, where I can jam with you on the guitar even!

Through time I have found out that starting by playing songs chosen by the student and creating exercises to practice that came out from the drums of that song is a very good way to learn how to play the instrument. Also keeps things interesting, since music is always the focus. I can help to choose the songs, but the student is always who decides which songs to play. This way, lessons become 100% personalized! I have +10 years of experience as a teacher, and I'm an active musician in the Berlin modern jazz, creative music and improvised music scenes. My way of teaching is to focus on developing confidence in using the tools for realizing your creative potential. Bio: Hayden is a classically trained composer and sound artist from the UK, currently based in Berlin. His interest in the space between strains of acoustic and electronic music and attentiveness to composition acts as a connecting thread in his multiple artistic projects. Besides performing with his solo project, Hayden also acts as leader of the critically acclaimed band Tether, performs as an instrumentalist, and works as a sound designer for advertising, film, and theater. He has designed soundscapes for Ableton, Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, and Cashmere Radio amongst others.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.
