Offering trumpet lessons, and for those interested - theory, sight-reading, analysis, and music history! My name is Gonen, a trumpeter who has lived in the city for several years, with a Bachelor's degree in performance from the Barenboim-Said Akademie and experience in solo playing, orchestral playing, and ensembles. My specialty is classical music, but I can help anyone get to know the instrument for playing in any style! I have experience teaching children, and I'm ready to teach all ages and all levels. I also have experience teaching as a private music instructor, and I am open to accepting students who need help with sight-reading, theory, music history, and analysis of pieces. I speak English, Hebrew, and German (basic but improving). For those interested, I would be happy to come to you for a lesson.

As a musician and component of a band I have more than 15 years of experience in the field. I can help you find your style of music or helping you write music as well. I learned the piano when I was a kid working mainly on modern, minimalistic and experimental type of music. I have learned the acoustic guitar by myself mainly and I took voice lessons for 4 years in my twenties. I play with my electric guitarist at the moment developing new material for a new EP. I am holding a bachelor and a master degree in jazz singing from the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam. My teaching method is scrupulously adapted to each student I have, regardless of the subject to work on (musical language, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.) I always apply the Belgian teaching model, where I trained with my master's degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). According to this model, the main thing is a living and practical teaching, taking understanding and not memory as the main learning engine.

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
