Mastering Estonian: A Beginner's Guide to Fluent Communication

MY LESSONS: Learning Estonian can be quite hard on your own or in a group. As a native speaker, I can help you become fluent in Estonian by mostly practicing conversation and pronunciation. I also help with other aspects of language learning, like writing, reading, and listening. Sometimes I help with Harno exam preparations as well. I tend to work with a maximum of two students at once, so couples, friends, and family members are welcome to have the lesson together. We will be using English as a base language in our lesson. Estonian is one of the Uralic languages next to Hungarian and Finnish languages. I encourage everybody to study in Estonia or just improve your knowledge by learning Estonian. As a native Estonian, I ́m here to teach you some simple everyday language you need there.

I am a Software Engineer, teacher and tutor. I graduated from Tallinn English College in 2016 and Tallinn French Lyceum in 2019, and I received my bachelor's degree in software development from Tallinn University of Technology in 2022. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in software development. I work daily as a tutor and senior advisor in my companies. I have also been teaching for 5 years. I help students prepare for state exams in Estonian (levels A1-C1) and math (both narrow and broad curriculums). I can always share tricks and exercises with students in class. I have clients age 5-65. I conduct lessons and meetings on Google Meet, during which I share my screen with the student, and together we write a Google Docs file with exercises, speak and write essays. This file, containing formulas and rules, stays with the student. At the end of the lesson, I assign homework to the student, and we review it in the next lesson. I have the same system applied in programming. I always choose topics that interest the student to make it easier for them to learn rules or formulas. I can also visit the student in person. Additionally, I help with writing research papers and final theses, ranging from elementary school research papers to master's theses.

I know my english is not the best but belive me or not I have been learning english for 5 years! People can learn my mother language up to 2 years! They say it can be hard but if you really want you can do it!!

I have completed a master's degree in teaching Estonian language and literature, German as an additional major. After that, I continued my studies at the Master's degree in translation, where I completed a 2-year program, at the moment I still have a thesis to do. I have been working as a teacher for 17 years now, the last 3 years at the Tallinn English College, where I teach Estonian language, German language, literature, research paper writing on both the national and international (IBO) curriculum. I have also worked as a translator, editor and private teacher (also online). I am correct, conscientious, flexible, reliable and diligent. I prefer to work at home.

Hello! You will learn to understand Estonian speech, make sentences, speak on different topics, learn the vocabulary you need for your work, learn grammar rules and apply them easily. I am teaching using progressive communication method, where you learn the whole phrase, not word by word. This way it is easier to remember grammar and make grammatically correct sentences.
